Final whistle 1-1

Straight from kick-off, both teams looked sharp while attempting to stamp their authority on the match.

City East capitalised on a free kick outside the box, Harry Wright cleverly disguising a lay-off pass to Trevor Harding, who was able to smash the ball into the bottom corner from 20+ yards.

Hackney Borough made a positive response and began to dictate possession, but without delivering any clear-cut chances, until suddenly their striker was able to roll the CB on a half turn and put the ball in the back of the net

Borough continued to dictate possession as City East remained well-shaped, focused, and capable of soaking up the pressure until half-time. Borough edged the first half, but the game remained in the balance.

The second half began, and it was clear that the intensity and tempo were raised significantly by City East, who took the initiative by not allowing Borough any time on the ball, leading to a momentum switch.

City East continued to dominate with a constant threat on goal, creating numerous chances but failing to take great goalscoring opportunities.

MOTM Femi rallied the City East defense, dominating all battles and duels Hackney Borough had to offer, apart from the last few minutes with a counter-attack attempting to snatch the three points with no end joy.

Overall, based on the missed clear-cut chances, City East felt they deserved to be victorious, but unfortunately will have to settle for the draw.
