A big hotel created by a group of children…inspired by the kestrel tower on the marsh - the children made this beautiful grand hotel entrance as an extension of this giant hotel for many creatures including a home for kestrels accommodating the penthouse! 😊

There’s a moment when the spark catches and everything changes. Awe, delight and something ancient stirring…

On our Level 3 Forest School Leader courses, we kindle a relationship with fire. It feels much more like a remembering than a learning of these primal skills.

Join us for a playful day on the land and come away with lots of new games for all ages, group sizes and settings...

George Mayfield is a Forest School Leader and TGC Facilitator. He also draws on his experience as a theatre performer and parkour coach. Richard Skrein is a storyteller and Forest School Association-Endorsed Trainer.

George and Rich have worked and played together for years and are excited to bring this new offering to you!

The workshop is open to all adults, and may be of particular interest to outdoor educators, teachers, parents and other group leaders.

We will be exploring:

Group games
Circle games
Pair games
Word games
Hiding games
Invasion games
and more!

We will be playing these games in the outdoors and although many have a nature connection focus, some can be played in any setting - indoors or outdoors.

Come and play!

Ice…Ice…Maple
Maple love a cold 🥶 Icy day on the Marsh

We will always say it but there is something very magical about a boggy puddle but even more magical when Jack Frost visits nature.

Collecting ice, breaking ice and watching it melt in the winters sun ☀️ 🧊 ❄️

The wonders of puddle exploration!

Puddle + children = FUN

So important to give your child time outdoors and most importantly give them time to explore puddles.

Just prepare the right clothings ready for puddle exploration ☺️

Ice Discovery 🧊

Maple Kindergarten found a big icy puddle as they roamed away from their site.

Sliding and smashing was taking place.

Just look at the view also 😍 just magical for us all on a frosty morning.

Thursday Throwback

Summer 2024 Maple Kindergarten stag beetle encounter 😏

When you bump into a friend who is doing fantastic things across the Hackney Marsh to improve bio diversity and we get a private session meeting a stag beetle.

Thanks @ianphillipswildlife the children really enjoyed spending time learning about the minibeasts 👍🏽

Children need time…
There own time…
To explore the world…
Big and small…

And that was just enough to explore the snail 🐌 🫣

Beauty of children’s creativity…Nature Art 🖼️ 🌿🍂🍁🍃

When you are blown away by children’s nature art. Feeling content to be able to give them the space to connect and explore what autumn can give in return.

Looking back at Nature Art training with @richardskreinoutdoors and @the_garden_classroom and feeling grateful for the inspiration it gave us to explore this with our young children 🙏🏽
