Here’s a little re-introduction to me…

A lot has happened since I starting City Girl in Nature. And some of these things I haven’t always posted about or shared in particular becoming a mother.

Which has inspired me to become a doula & shift City Girl in Nature to much more than nature connection but holistic practices and approaches to life.

Which I showed cased in my most recent documentary and podcast series ‘The outdoor and holistic nature project’

My previous website citygirlinnature.com got hacked but citygirlinnature.world will be launching soon.Thank you all for being a part of my journey so far & if you’re new-welcome 🫶🏽 #citygirlinnature❤️

Many thanks #LizzieMcAllister @HackneyCitizen for this piece on our new mural in Hackney, lining the public footpath and bridge to Hackney Marshes from Daubeney Road.

The mural was the vision of local resident Adam Cochrane whose children attend Clapton Park Children's Centre. Adam set up a Crowd Funder to raise money towards the costs of the mural. Local families donated and volunteered to bring the mural to life. It was a lovely job to work on as there was such positive enthusiasm and generosity of spirit from residents.

THANK YOU ALL for a great experience in working together and for supporting a lively, expressive painting on the outer fence surrounding @cpcc.official

Local charity @ecoactive continue to work on the flowerbed in front of the mural - a beautiful willow boundary around the bed has recently added to the improvements and looks beautiful!

The project was a collaboration between @cpcc.official and @hackneyforestschool in partnership with local charity @ecoactive_uk

Clapton Park Mural @cpcc.official - Here it is completed, a new painting lining the public footpath and bridge to Hackney Marshes from Daubeney Road.

This was a total joy to paint in the September sunshine. The theme of the mural is a meadow inspired by #hackneybuzzline – an ambitious initiative to create a flower-rich green corridor linking Hackney’s parks, supporting biodiversity, and encouraging people to connect with nature.

The design includes the Common Blue and Painted Lady butterflies, a Jersey Tiger moth plus a White-Tailed Bumblebee. These pollinators busy themselves amongst white and pink clover, dandelions, cornflower, knapweed, poppies and various grasses seen through painterly expressions of colour and texture.

The design sample was created using pencil crayons and it’s from this drawing that the painted work sprung into life - Hop over to the website to see more:

https://arthoppers.co.uk/project/meadow-and-pollinators/

The project was supported by the generosity of local residents who donated to a Crowdfunder initiated by @adam_cochrane. (Many thanks to all who contributed financially or as painting volunteers!)

The project was managed by @cpcc.official and @hackneyforestschool in partnership with local charity @ecoactive_uk

There’s a moment when the spark catches and everything changes. Awe, delight and something ancient stirring…

On our Level 3 Forest School Leader courses, we kindle a relationship with fire. It feels much more like a remembering than a learning of these primal skills.

Sunshine, smiles and tiny trowels! 🌱🌻🐝

Little gardeners helped our wonderful postcode gardener turn a neglected space outside their nursery school into another haven for pollinators on the Hackney Buzzline. Down on the ground, they added flowering plants like buddleia, salvia, aquilegia and foxgloves to attract bees and butterflies and bring life and colour to our streets.

Growing a love for nature should start young … and on our doorsteps.
