Mid-Autumn Festival is this Friday, September 25th 🌕

We’re celebrating family, the harvest season and giving thanks with mooncakes and one of our favourite communal rituals — sharing coffee together.

Yakitori, sake, highballs and really good Riesling this Sunday, Sept 20th with @kuro.yakitori! Tommy & his crew are back grilling really good chicken with more ‘off cuts’ this time, and I’m pouring JJ Prum Auslese from my cellar (magnum bottles are the best to pour!). All proceeds from my wine collection will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. It’s my birthday celebration, come eat and drink with me!

- Sept 9: we’ll be at @barratonlaveur pouring sake, with special collab onigiri with @oroshi_fishco!
- Sept 12/13: Cafe Blue Hour by reservation (a few seats left). The bottle shop will still be open but seats at the bar will be for event tickets only.
- Sept 20: @kuro.yakitori is back at Hakko Gakko for yakitori, special sake & wine, highballs. A birthday fundraiser!

Blue Hour started in Seoul ten years ago, and this year I moved its home base to Toronto. This will be our first pop-up here.

The pop-up will take place at Hakko Gakko, a space that really reflects Mariko and Sean’s unique taste and style. Sue will be serving a special lunch set by reservation. Sake from Hakko Gakko and coffee from RGLR Coffee will also be available.

Each meal will be served on Blue Hour’s handwoven table mats and coasters, and pieces made especially for the pop-up will also be available for purchase.

Come by during open hours to see the pieces available for sale.

We’re not finished with summer yet!! This Friday we’ve got @mikiaellis from Vancouver at Hakko Gakko, pouring fun sakes with us alongside onigiri by @yeshalong_nightsaloon!

Miki is co-owner of some of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver @dachivancouver @restaurantniwa and sake pro, we’ve traveled to far flung regions in Japan together over the years. Come by for rice drinks, rice balls and highballs!

@lingjunn_ @yeshalong_nightsaloon makes delicious food, Chinese and beyond. We love all the flavours Eddie manages to incorporate, super excited for his onigiri 🍙.

Konbini 5-1-4 at Hakko Gakko! This Sunday @jd.514 from @sushi_nishinokaze is in town with konbini sandwiches Quebec style.

Featuring wild seafood from Québec (Maguro from Baie des Chaleurs and Matane Ama Ebi) and the legendary Montréal melon.

We’re working on a new Lemon sour highball and of course sake pairings 🍋🍋🍋. Walk ins only, see you soon!
