Teaming up with @hakko.gakko always feels right. Mariko’s sake selection and Sean’s highballs were made for yakitori, and this weekend proved it again.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the alley, and to this crew for making it happen 🖤

Which skewer should come back next time? 👇

[Seats at the bar and lunch sets are by reservations only. **6 seats per seating available.]

Blue Hour started in Seoul ten years ago, and this year I moved its home base to Toronto. This will be our first pop-up here.

The pop-up will take place at Hakko Gakko, a space that really reflects Mariko and Sean’s unique taste and style. Sue will be serving a special lunch set by reservation. Sake from Hakko Gakko and coffee from RGLR Coffee will also be available.

Each meal will be served on Blue Hour’s handwoven table mats and coasters, and pieces made especially for the pop-up will also be available for purchase.

Come by during open hours to see the pieces available for sale.
Lunch reservations can be made through the link in Hakko Gakko’s bio.

Summer sketchbook: August 2026

A very nice Friday booked off from work to enjoy sharing some very nice spots in Toronto with a VIP house guest, plus a meeting of Casual Art Club.

A lovely lunch at @affinityfish

Afternoon libations and chats at @hakko.gakko

Post-gallery patio sketching at @loonspub

Unsketched: Wandering walks through sunny alleys, dancing to Technotronic as we went, dramatic entrances, fresh @ohminesake sips, joyful paintings, the joyful chitchat of friend worlds colliding.

Thank you @jehulove for giving us the best excuse to take a day off for adventure and @shighfi for being the very best club co-conspirator.
