POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
At the @world.of.waimh congress all presentations revolved around the topic of infant mental health. Various presentations honored indigenous and Native people and families. They honored their ancestors, their origins and their traditions. Various speakers also acknowledged the land on which they settled and confirmed its belonging to native people.

Concepts of #belonging and mental health are intertwined… because, after all, what does it mean to support a parent-infant relationship when generations were intentionally broken and lands seized?

Infant mental health is intrinsically linked to bonding and intergenerational transmission..
In fact, a baby does not come alone.
Babies -at birth- carry their respective identity in addition to inherited stories, songs, language, land, culture.. And when a system has tried to erase those, supporting mental health is not merely a clinical work. It becomes a work of justice..

After all, babies aren’t born as a blank page
- Babies come with a history,
- Babies come with their respective identity
- Babies come with a future,
- Babies come with the precious legacy of transmitting their origins to the next generation 🙏🏻💖

This actually resonated far beyond Canada… it painfully resonated within me and all the way to my country and my region..

Honored & proud to have presented our pioneer early infant mental health research project : ‘Preventive Parenting Program’ (PPP) at the @world.of.waimh World Association for Infant Mental Health in Toronto- Canada 🍁

PPP is a seven-session training program designed & implemented by my colleague Dr. Leyla Dirani and myself along with other esteemed colleagues at @aubmcpsychiatry @drfadimaalouf ⭐️🤍

PPP aims at training moms of infants (0-3years) on #emotional_regulation , on reading and managing baby /toddlers #behaviors, on #play skills and on #parenting skills to ensure better #mentalhealth wellbeing and schoolreadiness ⭐️ 👩‍🍼🧍🧍🏼‍♀️

Working on prevention & intervention in Lebanon 🇱🇧 means working against layers of challenges: economic collapse, collective trauma, wars, refugees and displacements, brain drain of professionals, stigma around mental health & early educational intervention that stops families from seeking help early etc.

Presenting this at the global level reminded me that Lebanon is not just linked to challenges. It is a case study in research, in best practices in education & mental health (amongst other fields), in resilience (and more!), in innovation, and MAINLY in what is possible when we, clinicians, REFUSE to give up ⭐️💖

Thank you to my department @aubmcpsychiatry & our amazing teams, to families & babies/toddlers who trusted us, to nurseries, corporate sector companies, MoPH public healthcare centers, and Focus Fund for their support and partnership 🙏🏻⭐️

Thank you @world.of.waimh for centering voices from around the Globe including ours🇱🇧

Gratitude & appreciation to all colleagues in Lebanon & around the globe 🌏 still showing up every day and supporting young ones & older ones Despite All & For the Wellbeing of All 💖⭐️🙏🏻 by @halaraad2211

I am honored to participate in the World Congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) @world.of.waimh : an inspiring global gathering of mental health professionals, educators, researchers and advocates⭐️

I spoke about Early Infant Mental Health: Echoes from Lebanon 🇱🇧 including the journey of infant mental health & research projects done at our @aubmcpsychiatry ⭐️

In a context marked by compounding “polycrisis’ (economic crashes, intergenerational and collective trauma, ongoing wars displacement & emigration of professionals etc.), there is a need validate our experiences and feelings, share them and share about challenges BUT also about our achievements despite & in spite of All.

It struck me while presenting that
- the challenges we’ve been through in Lebanon occurred in only ONE lifetime…
- Early Mental health & early education are intertwined & a priority: Children cannot afford to wait.
- Investing in the first 1000 days of an infant is not a luxury; it is the foundation of relationships, emotional regulation, learning and growth.

Thank you to WAIMH World Association for Infant Mental Health & Affiliate Council for creating such a vital space for dialogue, exchanges and learning: while our contexts differ, our mission & values are shared.

Gratitude as well to colleagues at our AUBMC Department Of Psychiatry for navigating crisis with professionalism & high standards of care for the individuals we serve.

Looking forward to continue building bridges between global knowledge and local realities.

The #mission_is_possible when both students and teachers get the right professional help!

We need more than awareness; the use of evidence-based strategies in the classroom, more research, and real support are a game changer in the lives of students & for the educational sector ⭐️ 📚 💖

Thanks to everyone who joined and engaged. Let’s keep the conversation going ⭐️💖

Some specialists treat, others provide #treatment and #care

For a long time I thought pain was something I just had to live with & medications were for a lifetime!

Then I met Dr. Khalil Nassar: Not only an incredibly skilled and professional physiotherapist, but a truly human one.

Someone who listens, who explains, who cares beyond the session. Who sees the person & quality of their life & not just the treatment or the pain.

Thank you for giving me a good quality of life despite the pains.. and for doing it with so much kindness and professionalism 🙏🏻🤍 #gratitude #physiotherapy #livingwithpain @khalilnassarclinic by @halaraad2211

In a concrete city, green is not a luxury, it’s a lifeline💖

Trees 🌳 that cool the streets, open fields where you can actually breathe, clean the air, protect our mental health, and bring people together are precious to preserve ⭐️

And yes — that includes golf courses too ⛳️

There are urban lungs! They preserve biodiversity, manage rainwater, protect land from being paved over, and give thousands of people a place to walk, play, and connect with nature and with each other 🌳 🌲

I say yes to almost every #research questionnaire that lands in my inbox.

Why? Because I believe in the value of research!

5 - 7min: A small action with a big ripple effect.

Research is the foundation of#humanprogress
Without it, we’re making decisions in the dark!

Thanks to research we can:
1. Understand our societies’ needs

2. Measure what works to select #bestpractices

3. Innovate responsibly: building solutions grounded in evidence

4. Promulgate adequate #policies as governments can understood real needs, evidence-based practices & plan accordingly

5. Live in a better society; as we solve problems with facts, not guesses

Research is how we move from “I think” to “We know.”

That’s why I say yes.

Will you press #yes next time you receive a research questionnaire? by @halaraad2211

🌿 A Meaningful Collaboration for Child Development & Wellbeing

The **Syndicate of Special Education Teachers in Lebanon**, in collaboration with **WALADI**, participated in the **Health & Wellness Forum 2026**, held on Friday, September 4 at Beit Al Tabib – Adlieh.

The collaboration brought together professionals around the theme **“Nutrition and Child Development – Building Strong Foundations for a Healthier Tomorrow.”**

We were proud to have three members of the Syndicate contribute to the conference and share their expertise:

✨ **Samar Sahyoun** — *Nutrition in Education: From Sensitization to the Creation of Good Habits*

✨ **Hala Raad** — *Children with ADHD: The Mission is Possible at School!*

✨ **Dr. Micheline Khoury Yammine** — *When Eating Becomes a Challenge: Support and Guidance for Children with Autism*

The Syndicate also had a dedicated exhibition stand, offering an opportunity to present our mission, highlight the vital role of **special education teachers**, and connect with professionals, families, and the wider community.

A valuable day of **knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and advocacy for children and inclusive education.** 🤍🌱 by @halaraad2211
