🌿 A Meaningful Collaboration for Child Development & Wellbeing

The **Syndicate of Special Education Teachers in Lebanon**, in collaboration with **WALADI**, participated in the **Health & Wellness Forum 2026**, held on Friday, September 4 at Beit Al Tabib – Adlieh.

The collaboration brought together professionals around the theme **“Nutrition and Child Development – Building Strong Foundations for a Healthier Tomorrow.”**

We were proud to have three members of the Syndicate contribute to the conference and share their expertise:

✨ **Samar Sahyoun** — *Nutrition in Education: From Sensitization to the Creation of Good Habits*

✨ **Hala Raad** — *Children with ADHD: The Mission is Possible at School!*

✨ **Dr. Micheline Khoury Yammine** — *When Eating Becomes a Challenge: Support and Guidance for Children with Autism*

The Syndicate also had a dedicated exhibition stand, offering an opportunity to present our mission, highlight the vital role of **special education teachers**, and connect with professionals, families, and the wider community.

A valuable day of **knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and advocacy for children and inclusive education.** 🤍🌱

👧🧒 Yesterday, WALADI took the stage at The Health & Wellness Forum

Our speakers approached one question from very different angles: how do we help a child grow, focus, and thrive?

🥗 Healthy eating and its role in child development
💛 The emotional relationship children build with food
🩺 Preventing diabetes and non-communicable diseases early
🧠 Behavior — with ABAL (Association for Behavior Analysis – Lebanon) on evidence-based approaches for children with ADHD and Autism
🏠 The child's environment ; how spaces and architecture are designed, and why that matters especially for these children
🌱 Managing stress, with Blossomind Center on how parents, specialists, and caregivers can cope with the pressure of caring for others

Different specialties, one shared conclusion: a child's development is shaped by everything around them — the plate, the routine, the room, and the wellbeing of the adults beside them

Thank you to all our speakers

Thank you also to every
parent, teacher, special educator, nurse, caregiver, and association who came.

I thought being a specialist would make first-time motherhood easier… instead, I read every book, questioned everything, monitored every milestone, and bought every sensory toy available. 😂

Eventually, I learned that knowledge can guide us but motherhood also requires breathing, adapting, and trusting ourselves. Our children don’t need perfect mothers. They need us. 🤍
Do you agree mommies??

At NEC 2025, we continue our mission to empower educators and embrace all learners through research, compassion, and innovation. 🌍

We’re thrilled to welcome four outstanding speakers who bring fresh insight and real impact to our theme:

Ms. Hiba Al Jamal — A Different Perspective: Teaching All Abilities
Ms. Hala Raad — Understanding ADHD to Embrace Every Learner
Dr. Steve White — Back to Basics: What Great Teachers Do — Student Learning and Class Management
Dr. Evelyne Baroud — Anxiety Disorders in Children and Adolescents: An Overview

Together, they remind us that inclusion begins with understanding — and that great teaching is not about one method, but about reaching every mind and every heart. ❤️

🚨 9 hours on the iPad?! 🚨
Hala Raad @halaraad2211 shares a real case of a young boy spending endless hours on his screen leading to anxiety, disrupted horloge biologique, and other serious effects.

Yes, kids and teens need to be up to date, and the iPad is part of this… but the awareness and guidance of parents is crucial. 👩‍👩‍👦

💡 Are we giving our kids opportunities… or an overdose?
In this clip, special educator Hala Raad @halaraad2211 explains how children are inheriting a “social syndrome” from parents , the pressure to do everything and be everywhere.

✨ But when activities turn into an overdose, it can harm rather than help. Balance is the real key to raising healthier, happier kids.

👉 Parents, what do you think: are we creating well-rounded kids, or are we exhausting them?
