What To Do When You Get Dumped is out today 🎉🎉🎉 So grateful for @bloomsburybooksus who helped put together these incredible gift boxes including chocolate from @tonyschocolonely_us and a custom fragrance from my sweet friend @calystoattar ✨ I’ve been through a few pub days now, and this moment is always surreal. You welcome readers into your book, into a little world you’ve painstakingly created in the hopes of connecting with them. I always have a little tummy ache of vulnerability and excitement, and today it’s heightened by how close this story is to me, to my family, and of course my mom, @hopkinssuzy. In interviews, we’re being asked, “How is the book resonating with people?” and we keep saying, we don’t know. We won’t know until it’s out there. We’re waiting for you, our readers, to tell us what our book means to you, how it lands in your heart and mind, how it affects you. My dad Chris turned 80 back in April. As a gift to him, I printed a zine from a sketchbook diary I kept on a 5-day train trip we took together, along with my husband Jack, in 2023. My dad is a train fanatic, and this was my first time joining him for a big train trip as an adult – it was really special and I wanted him to have this record of it. 🚂Initially, I made just a few copies for him, but with the help of the folks at @buyoly I was able to print more for a wider release! It’s called Riding Choo Choo With Father and it’s available now! Here is a short excerpt for your enjoyment. Link in profile to purchase the zine. It’s 60 pages with full color illustrations.
