Fruitful chaos | Digital Art & Animation 🔮 I learnt the term ‘Fruitful Chaos’ from a therapist but then I discovered it refers to a poetry book by Abby Pennington from 2024. Background design was made in Photoshop, then exported into Blender where I modelled the 3D bubbles and added animation. 3. Wild at Heart dir. by David Lynch (1990, USA) 7. An illustration I found in a book, but can’t remember what book or who the author is by @hamdi.asma_
Below the Line: Film Workers from the Global Majority | Poster design for @icalondon I was part of the ICA Creatives: Youth Collective, a six-month programme developed in collaboration with @iniva_arts and @junegivannifilmarchive exploring Black British and Pan-African cinema, archives and curatorial practice. As a collective, we co-curated an evening of screenings exploring the work and legacy of film workers from the Global Majority, alongside the launch of a film calendar highlighting 12 Black British and Pan-African film workers and collectives (calendar designed by @em____dash ) Collective: @s.a.bakare @ffemilola @soladem1 @smm.jpg @storybybokoko Special thanks to @eray________________ for coordinating! by @hamdi.asma_
Clothing is so deeply connected to pride, culture, identity. It's what we show off at weddings & Eid & all sorts of celebrations. Yet we rarely wear these thobes & abayas & caps & cloaks in our day to day. We're spending an afternoon in the Horniman's SWANA collection to look at clothes from our region and what they say (or don't say) about our culture & identity. We'll be doing collages, drawings, annotations, and photography together. It's free and refreshments will be provided 😋 This workshop is for the SWANA community and will feed directly into our community exhibition at the Horniman later this year. Portfolio launch | asmahamdi.com 🎀 I have spent the past few months building a website to showcase my portfolio. I wanted my website to look in a specific way so I decided to build it from scratch. It’s been an interesting journey because firstly, now I have a website (!!!) and also I know how much effort goes into it. I had to custom CSS so hard I started a creative coding course last month 😁 Special thanks to @halima_coded who fearlessly inverted my footer in like a day after I spent three weeks obsessing over it 🧜‍♀️ This post: I modelled the lamp and animated in Blender, background in Photoshop, animations in After Effects and the mysterious device was partly AI generated based on a Totally spies reference and partly edited in Photoshop by @hamdi.asma_
