Clothing is so deeply connected to pride, culture, identity. It's what we show off at weddings & Eid & all sorts of celebrations. Yet we rarely wear these thobes & abayas & caps & cloaks in our day to day.
We're spending an afternoon in the Horniman's SWANA collection to look at clothes from our region and what they say (or don't say) about our culture & identity.
We'll be doing collages, drawings, annotations, and photography together. It's free and refreshments will be provided 😋
This workshop is for the SWANA community and will feed directly into our community exhibition at the Horniman later this year.
