Each month, The Chloe welcomes an Artist in Residence: someone whose work we admire and want to share. Artists come from every discipline- and each residency is an invitation to experience their work.

This month, we’re welcoming Ash Atterberry or maybe you know her as @hand.wings. Sunday, August 30th at 6pm!

Join us for an evening celebrating our August Artist in Residence, beginning with a complimentary welcome cocktail and time to mingle. Fellow ceramicist Rebecca Blevins (@blevinsceramics) will moderate a conversation about the Ash's work, process and creative life, followed by an audience Q&A.

Artist bio and more information available on our website! by @hand.wings

Today marks the last day of my residency at @juliamartingallery ✨ it has been both challenging and exciting to switch things out every month and has had me living and breathing ceramics for the last 5 months! I have also really enjoyed spending time getting to know the other amazing artists and seeing their work change and grow throughout it.

Today at 3:30 some of the artists including myself will be having a conversation about this residency! Come celebrate the closing of the very last iteration and enjoy some cake with us!

Thank you Julia for putting together this sweet group of people and the opportunity to get weird and have fun 🖤🦢

I got to talk with @laurahutson for @nashvillescene about my favorite thing, clay!

Clay draws people together, it holds touch, has memory and carries stories throughout history. Existing as sculpture, utilitarian objects and fine art, it is an incredibly versatile medium! Learning how to tell stories through clay has been one of the greatest gifts of my life 🖤

Thank you Laura and Nashville Scene for casting light upon the growing clay world in our city! I am honored to be part of it and honored to have gotten to work alongside some of these artists for many years. by @hand.wings

“Pick a flower, leave a flower” I made this as a farewell to this special residency at @juliamartingallery 🌷 over the last few months I have had so much fun with clay, I got to explore adjacencies with some try’s and fails and opened up some new paths I’m excited to continue on. In this iteration I was thinking of home, growth, what brings comfort, what we surround ourselves with in our everyday. For me lately that’s looking at birds and plants, watching my garden grow wild with tithonias, staying up late, enjoying a slow morning here and there and soaking up one of the nicest springs I’ve experienced in Tennessee!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me near and far in all the ways 🖤 I feel very lucky! taken in Julia Martin Gallery by @hand.wings
