POSTS STORIES REELS
Second episode of our podcast on AI, where we get into a space that feels especially alive right now: the intersection between AI, art, and design. To do that we join two people who are right at the center of it: Pau Garcia (@pau_aleikumsalaam), creative technologist and co-founder of @domesticdatastreamers, and Marta Handenawer (@handenawer), designer, researcher, and expert in digital culture. Moreover, they’re the directors of the Master in Applied AI for Arts and Design (@ai.elisava) at @elisava.school, a programme that’s really trying to rethink what it means to be creative in the age of AI. 🎧 Listen to the podcast, hosted by David Sabaté (@dsabate), on Spotify (link in bio), iVoox, Mixcloud, and the Elisava website. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Design #Art #Elisava by @handenawer

“AI Sabotage Lab” Workshop by Domestic Data Streamers as seen at AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI 🧪 Maria Costa Graell @mericostx, Joana Brisbe @joana.bisbe, and Marta Handenawer @handenawer from Domestic Data Streamers @domesticdatastreamers facilitated this fantastic hands-on workshop at the AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI (2025) 💻 During the AI Sabotage Lab, participants critically explored how AI impacts cultural storytelling, focusing on the risks of narrative homogenization. By “misusing” AI tools with folkloric stories from their own backgrounds, they discovered how these systems can amplify universalizing biases and reduce complex cultural narratives into simplified, homogeneous forms 👹 Huge thanks to Elisava and their Master in Applied AI for Arts and Design program @ai.elisava for making this workshop possible, and to Marta Handenawer for the introduction 🙏 Video (camera + editing) by @stevenelbers Music by moby.gratis 🎪 ABOUT THE AIxDESIGN FESTIVAL In May 2025, the AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI transformed Loods6 in Amsterdam into a cozy 3-day playground for deconstructing mainstream AI stories, dreaming up new ones, and figuring out how to make them real through a fever dream of interactive talks, hands-on workshops, 600m art exhibition, film screening, and the gathering of hundreds of AI hotties, haters, weirdos, and whisperers from around the globe. AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI is made possible with the support of @stimuleringsfonds, @elisava.school, @the_naf_official, @beeldgeluid, @filmacademie, @cultuurfonds, Jagt Zwolsman fonds, @Loods6, and our lovely AIxD Community Supporters. by @handenawer
WORKSHOP: AI Sabotage Lab w/ Maria Costa Graell + Marta Handenawer + Joana Bisbe 🦊 May 1 @ 16:00 This session is brought to you with the support of Elisava, Master in Applied AI for Arts and Design. During the workshop “AI Sabotage Lab”, we’ll critically explore how artificial intelligence impacts cultural storytelling, focusing on the risks of narrative homogenization. Participants are invited to choose a folkloric story from their background and, by “misusing” AI, we’ll discover how it can unintentionally amplify universalising biases and categorise complex cultural narratives into simplified, homogeneous forms. What will we learn during this workshop? 1. To explore different perspectives on how to create with these tools. 2. To translate a typical folklore story from our own cultures into a new artistic format. 💻 Bring your laptop and your favourite local folklore and, if you want, a couple of pictures too. AI n00b (total beginner) friendly!* Want to learn more about Elisava? Find Marta Handenawer (co-director of the Master’s in Applied AI for Arts and Design) and Andrés Colmenares (director of the Master’s Design for Responsible AI) around the festival 🍏 Get your tickets now at → 🔗 bit.ly/aixd-festival-tickets to join us for the first ever AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI from May 1-3 at Loods6, Amsterdam. Hope to see you there! 👋 🎪 AIxDESIGN Festival: On Slow AI is made possible with the support of @stimuleringsfonds, @elisava.school, @the_naf_official, @beeldgeluid, @filmacademie, @cultuurfonds, Jagt Zwolsman fonds, @Loods6, and our lovely AIxD Community Supporters. by @handenawer
