The doors have been open the last two weekends in the new space at Studio 28…….still in the same beautiful Spurway Building in Alexandria. It has taken a little while to move the furniture around, fill the shelves and display all the sample knits but I’m almost there. As I was leaving I could not help but take a quick snap. I hope you like it. Now to look for a large beautiful table and chairs so we can start some knit and craft nights. It’s been a big few days of moving everything from my little yarn store to a bigger and better location. It’s still in the same building, it’s all one level and there is room for a table and chairs for possible knit nights down the track. I’m now in Studio 28. The next few days will be spent filling all these beautiful shelves with yarn and displaying all of my knit and kits. A huge shout out to @multimovers_co who were brilliant moving all my heavy pieces with ease and care. Also to my brilliant friend @liz_mahony who has helped me move countless trolley loads of goodies down the corridor to my new location. It was fabulous day instore today with lots of familiar faces and some new too. Thank you always for taking the time to pop in to my yarn store. I thought I’d share what I chose to wear today and how one #vneckchokki by @noriko_ichikawa_ can be worn in a number of different ways. Photo 1 : done up, Photo 2 : undone, photo 3 : buttoned up at the back, photo 4 : flipped upside down, photo 5 : flipped upside down, photo 6 : flipped upside down with extra buttons done up, photo 7 : back to wearing it the right way up. This beautiful sample was knitted by my lovely friend @janeeverett17 using @myak_fibers Baby Yak medium in the colour Shadow. Jane knitted the size 3. The beautiful @kokonbleu 4ply/fingering weight merino being highlighted this Saturday morning. Shown here in four different hand dyed colours O-Bleu, Jean Michel Fade 1, Jean Michel and Bleu. All four colours have three different dye applications. They are Semi Solid, Speckle and Tie Dye. All these colours are available instore and online. It’s always so lively having customers pop in to show you their amazing projects. @kyliechurchin is making a crochet blanket using the the fab @kokonyarn fingering weight merino. The colours Kylie chose are Moon for the edging around the circles. For the circles the colours are Smoke, Clay, Leaf, Cacti and Dare. I found a beautiful old wooden box on Sunday that not only looks amazing instore but also fits some of my @lykkemakehappy Interchangeable Knitting Needles & Cords perfectly. I’m sure the position of this special@piece may change over time but right now it is sitting in front of the table of @kokonyarn Merino Linen Fingering. What a lovely Friday instore it was today. Thank you to all the lovely customers that popped in to the new space in Studio 28 today like Elizabeth and Carmen. They both walked in wearing creations from yarn they had purchased instore last time they popped in (I did ask them to come back in and show me what they had made with the yarn they purchased last time). They may have walked out with a few more skeins so let’s see what they create with their purchases. It’s been a crazy few weeks and I was back in my lovely little Sydney yarn store on Friday and Saturday. Thank you to all the fab customers that popped in and shared their current and finished projects as well as taking home a few items to start some a few more. I can’t wait to see what they become. I also received some more fabulous @jane.frances.reilly earrings…….of course I had to have a pair but there are some more available online. This small earring collection is made using antique trial optometry lens from c1915. My knit of choice for Saturday was the #wisptank designed by @boylandknitworks using @kokonyarn Chunky mohair in the colour Spider. Yes I know another black knit!!! I knitted the size 3 and used a little under three skeins for this project. I can’t recommend this pattern enough…..it’s a quick, easy and stylish pattern that is great to wear by itself or as a layering piece. The pattern is available on ravelry and the yarn is available instore and online.
