POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Finally got around to finishing up this woodcut. It unfortunately fell off my list of priorities, but I’m glad I found some time on this snowy St. Louis afternoon.

Hey y’all, Big News-

As the end of our lease in St. Louis is approaching, Sam (@handsamwich) and I are going to be picking up stakes and opening a new printmaking studio in Kansas City’s West Bottoms called Twin Hound @twinhoundprintshop

The new print shop will host Stone Litho, Relief / Intaglio, RISO and Screen Print. Twin Hound will be open to artist members, assisted publishing, seasonal residencies and especially workshops!

We’ve got a whole lot of moving and building to do but we’ll be open to the public in the early Summer of 2025. If you want to take a look at our progress give us a follow at @twinhoundprintshop ! taken in West Bottoms, Kansas City by @handsamwich

Site Four Participating Gallery @twinhoundprintshop Invites Artists:✨Sam Mendoza, Ellie Westhoff✨

About Site Four:🛹🛹🛹
Reigniting the Site Series, this is a one-day outdoor exhibition and collaboration between independent, artist-run galleries and alternative venues in Kansas City that will take place at the Harrison Street DIY Skate Park 10/18/2026. Artists are invited to activate the Columbus Park skatepark, while also creating a network between spaces. As an important community-building initiative and creative achievement, this project also aims to celebrate the park before it's impending demolition and serve as a fundraiser in order for the skatepark to be built again.

The @twinhoundprintshop gang had a grand time at this year’s at MAPC this year!

Congrats and a hearty thank you to all the organizers for the @midamericaprint conference. Went to some inspiring panels and my eyes got to drink in so much amazing artwork. And, as always, getting to reunite with the many, many talented printmakers who not only share the same passion, but happen to be some of the best human beings I’ve ever met. Can’t wait for the next one!

Now back the shop dog, back to the shop, then back to work!

Thanks for the first and last photo @kaleenastasiak !

🚨 New Workshop Unlocked! 🚨

I’ll be teaching a weekend screen print workshop at Twin Hound Nov 14&15! This workshop covers the basics of screen print and is perfect for beginners and folks with moderate experience.

If you’re tired of AI artwork and want to immerse yourself in the world of the hand-made, this is your opportunity to learn a new skill or hone the ones you already have. Your films can be drawn by hand, or made digitally (more on that later).

Create a 2-3 layer print in a single weekend, and leave with an edition of 6-12 to gift or sell.

Make prints for fun or profit! Sign up through the link in my bio by @handsamwich

Stranger’s Daydream

My contribution to the Shop Dogs! Portfolio Exchange organized by @vanessajobahr
I got the pleasure of working at Scavenger Studios alongside Vanessa’s dog Arrow, who is a fantastic and sweet companion.

It was great to focus on our shops own hellhound. I like to think these are some of the improvements Stranger would make to the shop if she could… a bacon plant, a crate of rawhides instead of cheesecloth, her stuffed print assistant, peanut butter instead of tympan grease, etc. The wall art actually exist in our studio, and are recreations of prints by @hedgebitch and William (Bill) McKim

Overall, a really fun exchange to participate in. Anyone who knows us can tell you how much our lives revolves around her! A very special thanks to @stagprint who helped me screenprint my key onto the stone after I messed up the first pull. 🙃

Obligatory @frogmansprintworkshops photo dump! Wish I would have taken more photos of the amazing work I got to see, but it’s better in person anyway.

Anyway, just starting to come down from the trip. What a talented, fun group we had for week 2. Frogman’s is the perfect place to see familiar faces and meet new printmakers, all making mind blowing work. @eclairerose was a champion and sacrificed her own workshop so she could sub in for us in color intaglio. I appreciate the patience with my 100’s of questions.

I feel very grateful to have won the Frogman’s Design Scholarship. I highly recommend you go for it in the future if you really want to attend but aren’t sure if you could budget for the workshops.

Special thanks to Jeremy @frogmansprintworkshops and @weszakk for making this possible. And who could forget @terryjamesconrad and all the killer assistants!? Can’t wait until next time

Torn between new ideas, so thought it was a good time to revisit this old Litho I’ve been keeping in my WIP flat file.

Another great Block Party put on by the @foundryartcentre

@twinhoundprintshop was so happy to return once again to ink these big boy blocks. Thank you to our incredible ink pit and clean hands crew.

This is our second Block Party as Twin Hound. Before that, Grafik House put in all the blood sweat and tears to make this operation as smooth as it is today. We miss ya so much JT and Liz! Can’t wait to be sun soaked and ink covered together some day @grafikhouseusa @copper.teeth taken in Foundry Art Centre by @handsamwich
