Today, while looking through my scores, I came across The Firebird.

It made me stop for a moment.

This was the gift Barbara Hannigan gave me for my birthday last year, and somehow, this score has accompanied me through an entire year of my life.

A year of trying, learning, doubting, starting over, taking every possible road, and refusing to let go of a dream I have carried with me since I was a child.

I think I was about two years old when I first realized how deeply I loved music. And from that moment on, I kept finding ways to get closer to the world I felt I belonged to, even when I had no idea how I would ever get there.

And now, on my 37th birthday, that dream has finally brought me to CalArts.

Looking back, I know there are so many people, moments, and choices that brought me here. But without your encouragement, your belief in me, and the experiences of being by your side at Juilliard, the New York Philharmonic, and throughout this journey, Barbara, I don’t know if I would have made it here.

Thank you for giving me more than a score.

Thank you for giving me something to carry with me.

And thank you for reminding me, again and again, that some dreams are worth following for as long as it takes.

From The Firebird to CalArts, what a journey. ❤️

A beautiful testament to passion, dedication, and a deep love for Persian culture. Through the inspiring performances of the Sonoro Choir, under the direction of Jeremy Shilley, 36 American choral singers and musicians came together to celebrate an evening of Persian poetry and music by Abbie Betinis.

This remarkable collaboration demonstrated that art, literature, and music know no boundaries. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to be part of this extraordinary project, representing my roots and culture through one of the most beautiful forms of artistic expression. It was truly an honor to share the richness of Persian poetry and music with such talented artists and a wonderful audience. ❤️

I was privileged to form a friendship with @hamidinperson , a talented artist based in New York. Meeting him at his studio was unforgettable, and we even crossed paths at the La Voix Humaine concert with the NewYork Philharmonic, led by the phenomenal @hannigan.barbara. His pop-up books have beautifully showcased Persian art and storytelling, captivating audiences worldwide. His current work, bringing the Shahnameh to life through innovative projects, is truly commendable and preserves a vital part of Persian heritage for modern audiences. taken in Lincoln Center by @haniye.kian

✨Actors Studio ‌‌

Sometimes it’s great to do something a BIT different!! Symphony Tacoma & Symphony Tacoma Voices’s Legends of the Sounds, Pops N’ Rocks concert was a tremendous feast on Saturday at the Pantages Theater.
