It’s with a great deal of pride — and deep humility — that I was able to share in the opening and dedication of The AIDS Monument this weekend.

As a founding board member, this project has been close to my heart since its earliest days, and standing there to see it finally completed was profoundly moving. I’m eternally grateful to the extraordinary Board members who carried the torch after me and saw it through to this beautiful realization.

The ceremony itself was filled with grace, remembrance, and love — a true reflection of the community it honors. Hard to believe it’s been two years since I stepped into the role of Director of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and Executive Director of Nebraska Repertory Theatre.

I’m deeply grateful for the incredible faculty, staff, and students who make this work so meaningful — and for the colleagues, collaborators, and the Carson Foundation who’ve helped shape what we’re building. From bold new initiatives to long-standing traditions, it’s been a privilege to support and grow a community so committed to artistry, innovation, and education.
