Once I picked up It’s Not That Radical by @mikaelaloach, I couldn’t put it down.

This book offers an eloquent summary of the climate crisis and how we can defeat it through collective action.

Her analysis of our current situation doesn’t mask the challenges we face. She recognises how bad things are but she also gives us the encouragement to organise and build a sustainable future where we are all liberated.

If you haven’t read this book yet, what are you waiting for? The time is now!

Follow along for Part 2!

Have you read this epic book yet? by @hannahforclimate

The movie Digger (@diggerthemovie) uses satire to explore a fictional world shaped by environmental catastrophe, extreme wealth and enormous individual power.

It raises important questions:
🛢️ What responsibility should industries that have contributed to the crisis bear?
💰 Who has the power to shape our response to the climate crisis?
🗣️ Who gets a meaningful voice in deciding what the future looks like?

Climate justice asks us to examine power, inequality, responsibility and democratic participation. We need climate solutions that are fair, inclusive and shaped by the people and communities most affected by the crisis. Because climate justice is social justice.

What did you take away from Digger’s portrayal of Big Oil’s power and its role in the climate crisis? Drop your thoughts in the comments👇

Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza extends beyond devastating human suffering into the destruction of Palestinian land, water and environment. At the @thegreenparty conference, Peter Leary, the Deputy Director of @palestinesolidarityuk dives into Israeli ecocide in Palestine, how it’s connected to the Stop Rosebank movement (@stopcambo) and why everyone who cares about climate justice should care about Palestinian liberation.

For more on the devastating impact of Israel’s ongoing genocide on people and planet and more, listen to the podcast episode ‘War Beyond the Frontlines’ by @ourgreenmosaic on all major streaming platforms.

At COP30 in the Amazon, governments agreed to the first-ever global Just Transition mechanism under the UNFCCC, the Belém Action Mechanism (BAM). For the first time, a COP decision carried the strongest ever language on human rights and the rights of marginalised communities. But a mechanism is only as powerful as the political will behind it. The future won’t be green if it’s built on the same hierarchies that got us here.

BAM reminds us that positive climate action must be rooted in justice, equity and participation. It calls for climate investments that go beyond emissions reductions and protect workers rights, uphold Indigenous rights, strengthen communities and ensure meaningful participation from those most affected by both climate change and fossil fuel phase out.

Too often marginalised and vulnerable communities are treated as beneficiaries rather than decision-makers.

The reality is that frontline communities, women, Indigenous Peoples, informal workers, disabled people, people of colour and Global South countries are already leading climate solutions and are calling for:

🤝 Backing of locally-led solutions
🌿 Investment in community ownership and shared prosperity
👷‍♀️ Decent jobs, labour rights, and social protection
🌲 Indigenous leadership and free, prior and informed consent
♻️ The measurement of social outcomes alongside climate outcomes
🗳️ Decision-making power and a seat at the table

We need to unite and demand our governments incorporate just transition policies which preserve and protect the rights of frontline and marginalised communities.

A net zero future built on exploitation, exclusion, or extractivism isn’t a form of climate justice because the system needs to be fair to be just.

The biggest investment opportunity of our time is building a future where climate action creates dignity, equity, resilience, and opportunity for everyone.

Because climate justice is social justice ✊🏾🌱

Come with me to the UK’s biggest ever march against the far right.

The march, on the 28th of March, was organised by @togetheraliiance, an alliance of hundreds of civil society organisations and individuals united against the far right.

The day started with an enthusiastic @matthewbroadley, @reshmikalam and me taking public transport together to Hyde Park, each of us representing our local branch of @greenpartyuk.

While we were walking to the Green Party block, we had the pleasure of meeting the extraordinary @chilledasad from @friends_earth in person!

I was a little nervous at first as large crowds sometimes make me anxious. But the lively, joyful and hope-filled atmosphere quickly chased my nerves away.

The march was open and welcoming, with a family-friendly and festival-like energy. We walked from Park Lane to Whitehall, playing drums, chanting slogans of resistance and singing along to music playing from portable speakers. I saw more uplifting signs than I could photograph, each bringing a smile to my face and reassuring me that the far right’s politics of division is weaker than our commitment to togetherness. And along the way, I had the pleasure of chatting with @farhanayamin, @nadiasawalha, @mark_adderley and @eco_ty.

We heard leaders in this space from all walks of life share messages of hope, unity and love on stage. I particularly enjoyed the speeches given by @chilledasad, @officialhackneyabbot and @zackpolanski, all of whom inspired the crowd with their words.

Together, we proved that love is stronger than hate, hope is stronger than fear, and unity is stronger than division. When we organise, we can take on the far right – and win! by @hannahforclimate

If you’re wondering what climate justice is really about, you came to the right place.

This episode covers the big question: what is intersectional climate justice, why does it matter, and what does it look like to communities on the frontlines?

Together we explore different systems of oppression, including sexism, racism, classism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia to better understand intersectionality.

This will expand your understanding of the climate crisis and arm you with the tools to engage in meaningful climate action.

We talk about how these intersecting forces of oppression shape the impacts of climate change, and the solutions needed for a sustainable future that is fair and inclusive.

Follow Our Green Mosaic and discover a vibrant mosaic of solutions for bold climate action that tackles inequality. Together, we can raise awareness of climate justice and transform it into positive climate action.
