📖 June Read No. 2
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Hope Keeper by Heather Webb

“I couldn’t tear my gaze from the diamond…I wanted to search it for answers. Was everything they said about the stone true? Perhaps this object of desire, beauty, and bad luck truly was responsible, at least in part, for the incessant ache in my chest as I lay awake in bed each night.” ~ from The Hope Keeper by Heather Webb 💎

What a gem of a story! This historical fiction novel about the Hope Diamond was fantastic. I loved Elisabeth and her determination to find out the truth about what happened to her brother, and how his fate and hers were both connected to this cursed diamond.

What are you reading or hoping to read next? 💙

📖 June Read No. 1

A Founding Mother by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“It would be delicate and time-consuming work added to all my other responsibilities; nevertheless, I threw myself into it. I had, after all, promised George Washington that we ladies were happy to do our part.” ~from A Founding Mother: A Novel of Abigail Adams by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie

To say Abigail Adams is brought to life in this novel is an understatement. She absolutely was, as the beautiful cover states, a “fearless patriot.” Her lifelong dedication to her family and public services is truly inspiring! This is by far one of the best historical fiction novels I’ve read.

“Was it really that simple? Choosing a life? Maybe you don’t have to be led into the future. Maybe you can pick your own path. Maybe you don’t fall in love. Maybe you jump. Maybe, just maybe, it’s all a choice.” ~ First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen

Here’s to picking our own path 🌻

What was your favorite read from April? I have been slowly making my way through Sarah Addison Allen’s backlist and it has been delightful!

“There’s the promise of happiness out there. I know it. I even feel it sometimes. But it’s like chasing the moon, just when I think I have it, it disappears into the horizon.” ~ from The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen 🌙

I’m so glad I decided to read this enchanting story. Julia’s happy ending was so sweet, and Emily and Win’s little teenage love story was so endearing! This will definitely be a favorite read of this year ☺️

“My mother was a ferryboat captain’s daughter. My father was a stranger. My brother was the person I loved most in this world even though I always knew I would lose him.” ~ Skylight Confessions by Alice Hoffman

A melancholy story of heartbreak, haunting love, and hope that I could not put down. It completely broke my heart and then proceeded to fill it right back up 💛
