Thank you to the CLBJJ for the great tournament. It’s amazing to have a well run, fun tournament right here at home. Thank you to all the other teams that participated and all the athletes who competed. Valens Jiu Jitsu Academy is the home of GFTeam in Saskatchewan and we are so proud of our athletes, coaches and the supporting family and friends who helped us have another great result. This year we were able to win the 1st place team trophy for the adult and master gi division. We look forward to improving and working with all the other great teams in the province to grow the sport and push each other to a higher level.

Join us for a brunch potluck to watch the finals of ADCC Worlds this Sunday! Since the event starts at 2 AM due to it being held in Poland, we will be watching the replays at a more reasonable hour.

Comment, DM, or tell us in person if you plan to attend so we know how many people to expect!

Montreal 2026! We had ups and downs, but I’m grateful for the experience. I had the opportunity to match up against @msheehanjj in a tough bracket — a true gentleman and an incredible athlete. Congrats to him.
I also got to compete alongside my brothers @jairmckinnon and @estebban. Unfortunately, Esteban suffered a serious injury that meant Jair and I had to pull out of the absolute division for a trip to the hospital.
Big shoutout to the Halifax crew — @jakemackenziebjjschool @jakemackenziebjj @melbritez @diegoschmidt_ — for showing up strong and making the weekend even better.
We saw the sights, ate amazing food, had a classic Airbnb catfish experience, and got to enjoy some great jiu-jitsu in a beautiful city.
See you next year, Montreal 🤙🇨🇦 by @hanson1bjj

What an amazing weekend 🙌 We celebrated our 1-year anniversary on Friday, and we had an absolute blast. Thank you to @bif_malibu, @straker29, and the amazing people at SaskPoly for the dinner!
A huge thank-you to everyone who came out for our anniversary dinner and BJJ seminar with the king of the north 👑 @jakemackenziebjj. We had an incredible turnout, great energy, and so much support. Thank you, Jake, for everything you’ve done and everything you continue to do ❤️
Congratulations to all the students who earned promotions!

It was an incredible day for our team and for Saskatoon as we welcomed two new black belts: @jairmckinnon and @seanwillick. I’m so proud of you both, and I’m so excited for the future! 🥋🔥 taken in Valens Jiu Jitsu Academy by @hanson1bjj
