With the recent storms and hurricanes that have impacted our islands, we want to take a moment to mahalo our community for everything we have been doing for one another. At the heart of Runway Hawaiʻi is a mission to uplift our community and strengthen the sense of aloha that comes from our shared responsibility to mālama and take care of one another. ❤️‍🩹

It has been incredibly touching to see so many of the vendors who participated in our July event put their businesses into action to kōkua those impacted. From donating supplies and sharing resources to giving portions of their profits, we are so proud to see our small business community stepping up when our islands need it most.

The Runway H team has also dedicated numerous hours to supporting donation drives and donating directly to families who need assistance getting back on their feet. We take pride in putting our words into action and making ourselves useful in times like these, wherever and however we can. This has also inspired us to think even bigger about how we can kōkua through our organization and use this platform to create more meaningful impact moving forward.

If you have donation needs, fundraising sales or drops benefiting impacted families and communities, or helpful resources and guides, please tag Runway Hawaiʻi so we can help share and amplify them on our stories. We want this platform to be a resource for our community beyond just our events.

We mahalo every business that has donated, shared, volunteered, or given a portion of their profits, along with our first responders, emergency workers, response teams, volunteers, and everyone who has lent a helping hand. This photoshoot was a little bit of nostalgia for me. 💜

I grew up coming to Chinatown with my family, along with stories of my Gigi Grandpa coming here to shop for vegetables and pick up the Chinese newspaper. As an Okinawan, Chinese was actually easier for him to read than Japanese.

And somehow the song feels just as nostalgic 😂 We listened to SO much Dolly growing up—especially around the holidays for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 so I felt like it was a good fit now in honor of Dolly and this nostalgia shoot.

This collection might be my most Hapa collection yet. A mix of influences, memories, prints, colors and pieces of home all thrown together.

It’s also my first real jump into mixing prints, and so far you guys have been loving it 🥹💜 so I have a feeling there will be a lot more where this came from.

A little old, a little new, a little bit of everything—very Hapa House. 💜
