I’m really excited to announce that I’ve been selected as an @ordnancesurvey Champion for 2024.

Spending time in the outdoors is a huge part of my life, I’m an everyday adventurer and I believe adventures come in all different shapes and sizes.

I’m looking forward to sharing all of my adventures with you, my routes, OS mapping features, OS products and helping and encouraging more people to get outside.

I’m going to be joining an incredible team of volunteers and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to be working with Ordnance Survey, it’s going to be a very exciting year 🗺️

A few photos from our annual weekend getaway in North Wales with @bethskeptsecrets. We had two very unwanted visitors; Austin and Boelo that may have put a stop on our mountain days but we still managed to get out and explore 💨🌧️.

We visited local art and bookshops, stopped for delicious cake and chai, we had a brief walk along the beach collecting shells before making our way back to the cottage for an afternoon of crafts, more snacks and delicious home cooked food.

Sundays weather looked much brighter but still very windy, so we decided we would just have a short walk before saying our goodbyes. We had a lovely wander up to Llyn Cwmorthin, we had beautiful views and it was a chance for Beth to share all her flora and fauna knowledge with me 🌿

Im on countdown to next year already!

I had a very busy weekend filled with connection, mindfulness, nature, wholesome food and community.

You know when you have one of those weekends that really does fill your cup 🥰

🤎 Lunch with Emma from @mtw_fitness_ , it was a celebration for the half marathon we both did at the beginning of October so I obviously picked the biggest cake on the counter - a lemon meringue pastry.

🤎 An early morning mindful run listening to the bird song cheering me on, Robins flying around looking for their breakfast, Autumn coloured leaves to run through and the warmth of the sun peeking through the trees ‘Komorebi’.

🤎 A beautiful mindful walk with @natalierossiterwellbeing around Blackleach Country Park followed by Nature Journalling 🍂. This event was part of the Salford Walking Festival.

🤎 Sauna and cold dip with friends under a canopy of trees and fairy lights.

🤎 An evening with my parents and a very naughty Chocolate Labrador.

🤎 A beautiful day under the Autumn sun volunteering at @this_is_the_promise closing their garden kitchen for winter followed by delicious homemade pumpkin soup and pumpkin curry. Thank you to Cath and Andrew for opening up your home to us and for bringing community together.

🤎 Fungi spotting, lots of chatting, a flask of lemon and ginger tea, cookies and a wander around Heaton Park with @sarahcarr.

Days 3, 4 and 5 in Montenegro 🇲🇪

We left the city of Podgorica behind us and made our way Zabljak in Durmitor National Park. Zabljak is the gateway to the mountains and is home to 48 peaks over 2000 metres, deep canyons, and glacial waters.

The town was very quiet with just a handful of places to eat but there’s a lot of infrastructure happening so I feel in the next few years this little town is going to look and feel very different.

We walked up Crvena Greda (2164m), Prutaš (2393m) and Savin Kuk (2,313m). On our visit to Durmitor National Park the weather was changing as it was the end of the season, so we had all 4 seasons. Unfortunately this meant we couldn’t walk up Bobotov Kuk (2,523 m) the highest peak in Montenegro but the walks we did were beautiful and it just means we have to go back one day!

We got to swim in Black Lake and I even managed to get Dave into the water with me without a bribery deal. At the end of our 3 days of hiking we changed accommodation and the roll top bath was definitely a little treat 🛀 by @happycampersam

Postcards from a beautiful weekend in Anglesey with friends 📸

We meet up once a year for our annual ‘Adventure Girls’ trip and this year we decided to go back to Anglesey to get a dose of Vitamin Sea although we may have experienced all four seasons in the last couple of days. We try and get a balance of time to just sit and chat but also exploring where we are. This is what we got up to…….

💙 We splashed in the sea and had a beautiful view from the wood fired sauna

💙 Hot Vimto on the beach

💙 We walked the Coppermine Trail at Parys Mountain

💙 We ate delicious home cooked food

💙 We missed the bus to the start of our walk, apparently they don’t change the numbers on the bus you’re just meant to know where they are going! But we did meet a lovely taxi driver who saved the day.

💙 We walked the coastal path from Cemaes Bay to Amlwch and explored the Old Brickworks, followed by a pint and a portion of chips

💙 We got to see the aurora from the garden

💙 Had delicious pancakes from Skye’s

On countdown already until our next trip! by @happycampersam

Manchester Half Marathon 2026 🐝

I’m still on a high from the @mcrhalf on Sunday, I loved every single bit of the event.

This run was never about times or PBs, it was about me just getting to the start line (and being injury free). I knew if I followed my training plan from @mtw_fitness_ and committed to runners strength classes and pilates at @worsleyphysio then physically I’d be on that start line. I just had to put the extra work in behind the scenes and work on my nervous system 🥰.

All I wanted to do was go and have some fun and that’s exactly what I did. I followed my training plan and I held my pace throughout, it’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and push harder as the crowd cheers you to keep going. I smiled the whole way around except for the last few kms when I pushed for a strong finish and I did up the pace, the competitive side in me came out 😂

I loved the atmosphere, the children sharing their sweets, water being handed out, the homemade signs, the high fives, strangers shouting your name and cheering you on and the musicians and DJs that came to keep you motivated. I really did love it all and I felt so proud to call Manchester my home (being a Scouser I never thought those words would leave my mouth).

Throughout my training I shared many fungi photos in the MTW Half Marathon WhatsApp group that I spotted on my runs, I’m sure they all thought I’d lost the plot. So when I seen the Power Up signs 🍄 it made me smile and reminded me of all those beautiful mindful runs that got me to this point.

I got to share this run with other women from the MTW Community which was really special, some women were going for PBs and for others this was their first half marathon included mine! For the 11 weeks we all supported each other along the way and even when our training runs didn’t quite go to plan there was always that friendly message to pick you back up.

When the sign up email for 2027 come through on the Sunday evening I didn’t have to think twice about it, I can’t wait to be back on that start line (maybe not quite so much drama at the finish line next year please 😉).

Postcards from Day 1 and 2 in Montenegro 🇲🇪

We booked a very last minute trip to Montenegro to visit Durmitor National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic alpine peaks, deep river canyons and glacial lakes.

We flew into Podgorica which is known as ‘Europe’s most boring and ugliest city’. We had two days here so I seen this as a little bit of a challenge to prove this wrong, we had a full day exploring the city visiting coffee shops, bookshop, churches, parks, finding brutalist architecture and wandering the old streets of Stara Varoš.

On our second day we took a short train ride to Virpazer to visit Lake Skadar which is on the boarder of Montenegro and Albania making it the largest lake in Southern Europe. The lake is known as the Amazon of Montenegro which is home to more than 280 bird species. It was a beautiful way to spend the morning cruising down the canals surrounded by so much wildlife with the opportunity to go for a dip (I’m just glad they told me about the water snakes after my swim) 🐦 🌿🪷 🐸 🐟🪿 by @happycampersam

Kendal Calling 2026……. What a blast!!

We started the festival off with an overnight stop at Tebay Services on the Wednesday evening picking up cheese, chutney, crackers, strawberries and a breakfast pack to take to the festival.

By 6.00am on Thursday morning we were in the fields setting up and enjoyed a full day of sunshine with a cheese board before the arena opened at 5.00pm 🚐 🌻 🙌🏻 🧀

The whole weekend was filled with good music, lots of dancing, friends and sequins! I loved the not so secret set from The Lottery Winners, Red Rum Club was amazing and I’ve now got a girl crush on Wolf Alice.

Apart from one cocktail the whole weekend was alcohol free for me. Was it any different?? Absolutely not!! I still enjoyed a Thatchers Zero sat in the fields in the sunshine, I sang my heart out and danced like nobody was watching 😍

See you in the fields Kendal Calling in 2027!! by @happycampersam

Yesterday @loveherwildmanchester took on The Cross Bay Walk Challenge raising money for @loveherwilduk.

The morning started with a train ride from Grange-Over-Sands to Arnside, hundreds of walkers stood on the platform waiting to board a two carriage train which was already busy when it arrived. They tried to get all the walkers on to this train and Love Her Wild took one for the team and stood in the toilet for the 6 minute journey 😂

We arrived in Arnside, made our way to registration and started the guided trek across the dangerous sands of Morecambe Bay back to Grange-over-Sands, led officially by the King’s Guide to the Sands. We navigated our way across tidal channels and quicksand, I won’t lie the quicksand absolutely terrified me! Lots of nervous giggles as we carefully walked over the jelly like sand.

Despite the wet weather had so much fun! @loveherwildmanchester have raised £685.00 from this event which is incredible. Thank you @nicolajturner_ for organising 💙 by @happycampersam

Today we’re celebrating 10 years since our first date. It only feels like yesterday since we met up drinking coffee, eating cake and spent the whole evening talking about OS maps and walking. I just knew that evening you were the one but I made you work hard for me for the next 6 months (Sorry about that 😂).

Over the years we’ve made so many memories, had so many incredible adventures and I’m so lucky I get to do life with you. The past 10 months have been a little different for us, life’s been a little slower, there’s been so many cancelled plans and trips, endless days just sat at home and despite all of this your support and love has never changed.

So thank you for being you, thank you for supporting me every single day and for always being my biggest cheerleader.

Let’s see what the next 10 years has in store for us 🥰 by @happycampersam

Celebrating @worsleyphysio 20th birthday party with pilates, cake and fizz 🥳

Thank you to Kat and all the team for the lovely warm welcome on every visit and all your support and guidance with pilates, runners strength, physio treatment and sports massages. Not only do you help fix all my niggles, you have created a lovely community with many friendships made.

Here’s to the next 20 years 🥂 by @happycampersam
