We’re excited to announce North Carolina all-star supergroup Mo-Grass as our featured entertainment on Saturday, November 14, at Vista at Walnut Hill!

Mo-Grass brings together some of the region’s finest musicians for a one-of-a-kind musical experience: classic Motown and soul reimagined with the energy and charm of bluegrass. 💃🪕

With appearances at MerleFest, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, and FloydFest.., and a performance TONIGHT with Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass!… The band’s growing success is a testament to its unique sound and broad appeal.

Although we’ve been a Daddy Pete’s Plant Pleaser product dealer (say that 10 times fast!) for the past several years, we now have our ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ to make it official!

Celebrating the roots that feed us and the influences that have shaped what we eat today, while honoring Indigenous foodways and ancestral traditions in agriculture…

We are deeply grateful to NC Artist @karinamcmillan for allowing us to license and feature her beautiful original artwork for this year’s event. We look forward to sharing the full work of art and highlighting more on Karina when we debut the official poster.

We are so honored and excited to have Chef Christina Strickland Theodorou joining us for this year’s Harvest Dinner!

A member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and founder Átkowa Indigenous Foodways, Christina honors ancestral food traditions and Southeastern Indigenous stories of creation, land, and sustenance through her cooking and work as an emerging clay artist. Her roles as a daughter, sister, and mother ground her artistry in kinship, resilience, and love.

Beyond the kitchen, Christina brings 15 years of experience supporting small business development across North Carolina. She has worked in tribal leadership development and tribal affairs at the state, university, and federal levels, helping strengthen tribal assets and economies while advocating for equity in Indigenous communities.

Christina also serves as program manager for ACIER with UNC-Chapel Hill’s NCGrowth team, connecting minority- and women-owned businesses with anchor institutions and helping expand opportunities for small business owners.

We’re grateful to have her sharing her talents and knowledge as we celebrate the roots that feed us. Join us November 14th at @vista_at_walnut_hill for an evening benefiting Happy Roots!

Finally! We can share the finished product! 🌱🥰🌱

When the new Rowan Achievement Center pods were built, this exposed drain pipe was an eyesore. Mr. Cowan asked about a planter box to hide it and contracted Happy Roots to build it. Well, Aron Burleson went and outdid himself! Aron and son Gavin built this gorgeous 50 ft. planter, and today we were finally able to fill it. We are so proud and grateful for their thoughtful craftsmanship and care!

Today students planted purple and yellow pansies (school colors!). They also planted lettuce, kale, and collards, all within easy reach and access for staff and students. 💜💛 And it is beautiful! 🌱🤗🌱

Thank you Aron for going the extra mile on this! Staff and students love it!

Huge #ThankYou to @catawbacollege for your #DayOfService! 🙌🏽🌱🙏🏽

Two shifts of students visited @happyrootsfarmnc today to help load soil in the greenhouse, sow seeds, propagate plants, and break down pallets for more school garden signs.

Let’s try this again. We’ve been battlin’ with the critters over at Salisbury Pediatrics.

Our little garden did so well for a while! But then… the critters caught on… and started eating it all! 🌱🐿️

The gift that keeps on giving! Our dear friend, Bonnie Allyn, gifted us some Egyptian Walking Onion, maybe 7 years ago now!? It’s still going…
