We've been excited to see all the ways farmers can engage with composting. The support of the 2026 North Carolina Composting Council grant gave an added boost to farmers practicing sustainability and viability on the land.

Join NCCC, members of the Women of Color Farmers Network, and grantees from Bountiful Cities, Happy Roots, and Zealous Empowering Nurturer (ZEN) as they share about their projects this year. The link to register is in our bio.

🌿✨ One last stroll down Heartbeat Avenue, where flowers, memories, and a little mountain magic meet.

Join @festivalparkva Grounds Manager Danielle for the final stretch of her trailwalk as she gathers cosmos seeds to replant next spring—always leaving plenty behind for the birds—and checks in on a wandering passion flower reaching for the Timberframe above. Along the way, Whirling Butterfly blooms offer another sweet stop for the pollinators. 🌸🦋

The trail then leads to the @floydfestva Memorial Garden, a peaceful space lovingly brought to FestivalPark each year by @happyroots_nc . Here, names of friends we’ve lost live on among painted rocks and hanging tags, while the Wind Phone offers a quiet place to speak the words still carried in your heart. 💚

Some places are made for gathering. Others invite us to slow down, remember, and feel connected to those who walked the path before us. ✌️🌿

One way you can make #EarthDayEveryDay is by buying and eating local. 🌱🌎

Supporting local farmers and growers keeps land in agriculture, and protects it from being sold off, developed, or turned into something that further disconnects us from our food and our roots. It also cuts down on food miles.

This year at Earth Day Jam, and at every @happyroots_nc event, we choose local. We’re proud to put our money where our mission is… by once again sourcing as much as possible locally… and dedicating our event budget right back to our community.

It’s always a great time at Earth Day Jam! So grateful to @happyroots_nc for creating something so meaningful for our community!

Days like this remind us that caring for the earth doesn’t have to be complicated. It can look like gathering together, supporting local, and making choices with intention.

If you’re wanting to stay connected, keep showing up for your local farmers, and be part of something bigger, come see us at the Market 💛

Earth Day Jam 2026 in the books @earthdayjamnc
What a great day of music, movement, community engagement, and Earth+gardening education🎶🌸🌱

This was the 14th Annual event, which is a fundraiser for @happyroots_nc and a FREE public event in downtown Salisbury, NC.

So grateful to meet @_headspin who brought their set up for the evening Flow Jam and finished the night with a visually stunning LED performance while @redpanda_band and @datrianj took stage🔥🎶🪄Wowza! What a finale to an epic day✨
