A beautiful day rooted in community, connection, and giving back. 💚✨

Hap’s House was honored to be part of the 3rd Annual Back-to-School Community Day, celebrating families and helping prepare students for a successful school year.

From school supplies and food to community resources, music, and more, it was a joy to come together and pour into our community. 📚🎒

Thank you to everyone who made this day possible and to all the families who joined us!

Investing in the next generation is an investment in the community. 💜

Hap’s House was proud to be part of the 5th Annual Social Justice Camp Partner Fair at Laurel Branch Library.

We connected with organizations, shared more about our mission, and talked about opportunities to get involved in this work. We are grateful for spaces that encourage young people to learn, lead, and shape the kind of communities they want to help create.
This is how we cultivate community—one connection at a time.

It starts with the mindset.

When we align who we are with where we’re going—and move in the spirit of our ancestors—we begin to unlock what is possible for our families, our communities, and our people.

We carry their resilience. Their wisdom. Their vision.

The work now is ours: to think differently, build intentionally, and move forward together for the greater good.

We are because they were. And what we build next matters. 🖤

We’re building more than events. We’re building community. 💜

And sometimes, community means celebrating the people who help build the House.

What Binds Us: A Kindred Conversation brought us together in honor of the birthday of our beloved board member, Tiffany—celebrating another year of her purpose and impact through something she values deeply: meaningful conversation and community.

Inspired by Octavia Butler’s Kindred, we talked about inheritance, survival, power, intimacy, memory, and the ties that connect us across generations and experiences.

It was thoughtful. It was warm. It was joyful. And it was a beautiful reminder that celebrating someone can also mean creating space for others to connect.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for Tiffany, for the conversation, and for the House. 💜

Strong Families. Stronger Communities.

Birthed in legacy. Rooted in family. Cultivated by community.

This Father’s Day, Hap’s House proudly hosted our First Annual Men’s Breakfast—a gathering dedicated to celebrating the fathers, father figures, and men who pour into our communities with love and purpose.

The conversations were meaningful, the fellowship was genuine, and the spirit of brotherhood was undeniable.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in creating a space where men are celebrated, supported, and empowered.

Here’s to continuing the work, honoring legacy, and growing together.

My father, the late, great Gregory Otis “Hap” Evans, was the biggest man I’ve ever known—a man of integrity, leadership, unwavering commitment to family, and deep faith. He stood uprightly as a man ordained with vision, principle, and purpose.

To be his eldest child is my greatest flex. Who I am today is a direct reflection of how he raised me, poured into me, and loved me throughout my childhood, young adulthood, and even into early motherhood.

Hap’s House was birthed as a continuation of his vision for our family—building strong communities by building families first…“The family loves, cares for, and respects one another.”

No matter the hour, the day, or the year, it is my mission to carry the family torch forward as I press toward the mark of my higher calling while honoring his legacy, while counting it all in joy along the journey.

He will always be my FOREVER first love. I love you, Daddy.
