I have cancer. Last Friday, I was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma. We’re awaiting more information about the subtype.

Sometimes you choose the hard way.

Sometimes the hard way chooses you.

I’m living in the hospital for a continuous EPOCH-R chemo infusion for the next 96 hours.

For now, the treatment plan is to do this four days out of every three weeks for the next six months.

My doctor and I, and the Dana Farber institute, and the rest of my care team are 100% confident we will cure this.

A lot of feelings arise as I navigate this, and the biggest one is fear, especially when I think about my wife and our children, 7 and 9.

And when I’m afraid, I focus on the next breath.

That’s the only guarantee any of us have.

I also feel lucky.

To be here right now, to have this breath in this moment, to have all of the strength and endurance I’ve had the privilege to build throughout my life and a loving community around me ready to do anything to help.

There are going to be waves on this journey.

I value your support and if you reach out, I want you to know there are only three things that I find to be helpful:
-Acknowledging discomfort.
-Staying 100% focused on the cure.
-And working together to surf the waves that arise in this process.

As the waves come, I will find ways to surf them.

The hard way is the only way.

3rd genetically modified strength workout coming back From Zero on my 21st day in Boston for my CAR-T treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

I go home today. Thank you to my brother Tony and my homeys Eric, Ash, and Nick who dropped everything to come be 24/7 caregivers in case I stopped being able to recognize a pen, went into a coma, or had organ failure.

Now I head back to Hope where my home and family are physically and existentially located and we keep going.

Then I’m back at Dana-Farber in two weeks to get PET scanned to validate the efficacy of the treatment.

Wu Tang Killa T-cells is on the swarm.

Have to start somewhere.
