The continuous issues faced by marginalized women mostly the Trans, Intersex and Gender-diverse persons especially those living with HIV and with disability is a big concern with the current Administration that has led to funding cuts and the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act (SSMPA) affecting this persons in Nigeria. This has led to Kito incident, increased GBV/SGBV, Malnutrition, MHPSS and death. Harmony Caregivers Foundation will be hosting a webinar with our guest speakers to talk about this issues and ways forward. by @harmonycaregivers

Day 2 of the Co-Designing a Survivor-Centred Human Rights & Kito Response System for Lagos State

Day 2 focused on building practical skills for responding to Kito cases. Participants engaged in paralegal exercises on how to safely handle Kito cases, support survivors, document incidents, and make appropriate referrals to relevant services.

Through practical scenarios and collaborative discussions, we strengthened our understanding of survivor-centred response pathways and how to ensure survivors receive the right support at every stage.

Another day of learning, collaboration, and co-creation toward a stronger response system for Lagos State.

Recap of Day 1 of the Co-Designing a Survivor-Centred Human Rights & Kito Response System for Lagos State Workshop

Today, participants explored the Kito survivor journey, mapped gaps in existing response systems, and began co-designing a more survivor-centred pathway for reporting, safety, documentation, support, referral, and follow-up.

The sessions brought together diverse perspectives to strengthen the development of a State Response Framework, Human Rights Violation Reporting Tool, and Para-Legal First Aid Toolkit for Lagos State.

A productive first day of learning, reflection, and co-creation.
