The Queens Ball Gala returns Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Jericho Terrace, and this year we’re celebrating our 5th Anniversary! 🎉

For five years, this gala has brought our community together in service of a legacy that started over 45 years ago built on opportunity, empowerment, and impact across Southeast Queens.

This year’s theme, “A Legacy of Excellence: Honoring Our Roots, Expanding Our Reach,” is a celebration of how far we’ve come and how much further we’re going — and this year, we’re honoring five incredible leaders who embody that legacy:

Senator Leroy Comrie @senatorcomrie
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards @queensbprichards
Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman @assemblymemberalicialhyndman
Greater Jamaica Dev. Corp. President Justin Rodgers
@gjdcprez
Devore Dance Center Founder, Carolyn Devore @devoredance

One month from today, we come together for a night of celebration, connection, and purpose and we want YOU there.

Let’s make this milestone one for the books. 💫

During the 2025 National Action Network Convention earlier this month, the “Children of the Movement” panel offered a reflection on legacy, responsibility, and forward motion.

Moderated by Ashley Sharpton, the conversation featured Hasan Flake, Ashley Jackson, Keisha Sutton James, Ade Williams, and Lorenzo Daughtry-Chambers, descendants of movement legends who are shaping their own paths in justice work today.

Each voice brought truth, vision, and commitment proving that the next generation isn’t just carrying the torch, they’re lighting new fires for change.

Visit NANConvention2025.net for more highlights, panels, Rev’s call to action, and to join NAN in the movement for justice and progress.

I had the privilege of accepting The Project Collaborative Award from @nationalgrid on behalf of @allencathedral and affiliated organizations @greaterallendc and @allennpd84.

Through this program Allen has received funds to support our Youth STEAM Program and other programming designed to assist us in enhancing the communities we serve.

Thank you Carla Hunter Ramsey, National Grid’s Director of External Affairs and Community Engagement for your continued support to furthering Allen’s mission and your commitment to #theflakelegacy taken in Giando on the Water by @haroldhasan
