Solid weekend testing with the team at Taupo!

The bike had some gremlins, which isn't surprising given its excursion to the streets of Rotorua recently! Fortunately we worked through these and got to work with some testing. Some solid progress made, and positive steps forward.
It was really exciting to have the whole team together for the first time, and excited to be a part of it!

Huge thank you to Wayne and Tony for getting all their effort with the bike.

Though I would make some cheeky content while down here in Toupo helping out @cameronleslieracing and @harrietrides on their @hondamotulracingnz cbr650’s, definitely a bit less fun being pit boy instead of rider but anytime spent around bikes is good time!
And really cool to see both riders developing themselves and their machines to operate at 100% taken in Taupo, New Zealand by @harrietrides

I had the privilege of joining @ornsbytraining on Tuesday for one of their track training days, and it was so awesome to be a part of it!

The support and positive atmosphere across the whole day was so nice to be around. The coaches are amazing and super helpful, and the riders were all very respectful of each other out on the track! While it wasn’t a day for me to be out just doing hot laps, I was able to ride alongside the groups, offer some support, and chat about things like lines, body positioning and simply getting more comfortable on the bike.

It was also very cool getting to ride around with other road-spec CBR650Rs and have some fun together!

If you’ve been thinking about improving your riding, or you want to get out on track in a low-pressure, safe and supportive environment, @ornsbytraining track days are 100% a great place to start.

Big thanks to the team for having me along 🤍

AMCC round 1 went a little different than originally planned.

After the new CBR650R was stolen just days before we were due to race it, I headed to Hampton Downs without a race bike. Thankfully, I was able to race the Team Rees training bike, the CBR250, in the 250 Production class instead. Huge thanks to Wayne, Cam, Tony, Lucas, and the whole team for making this weekend happen.

I had a great day, first time racing the national circuit at Hampton Downs!I was able to take four wins from four races and finishing fifth overall among the R3s and Ninja 400s.

It was great to be racing with the team, and we turned a frustrating situation into a positive weekend. Cam and the team made a strong start to the season on the CBR650R, while Dave won his class!

Thanks to everyone who helped, supported us, and checked in after the bike was stolen. Please keep your eyes and ears open for it!

Onto the next one... hopefully on a CBR650R.

King of Canterbury 1

Extreme winds, good progress, and some good fun on track.

With a soaked track in the morning I made the call the skip practice/quali being too much of a risk on slick tyres. This put me at the back of the F3 grid with 20+ riders. Finished 6, 6, 4 in F3 overall

It was nice to get a relaxed start to the season, low pressure, lots of laughs, learning, and getting more comfortable with the bike.

Thanks to everyone who came and said hello in the pits, and to have a look at the CBR650R

The MCI King of Canterbury season starts in just 7 days!
Can't wait to get back out on the track on the CBR650R!

My focus is still firmly on getting to know the bike and build up some seat time before I start pushing. Lots still to learn!

King of Canterbury is free for spectators, so feel free to come down to Ruapuna for a day of watching the races!

Good day for some laps at Motorcycling Canterbury's HAGD the recently🏁

Just chipping away and making the most of every bit of track time. Lots to learn on this bigger bike!

One thing’s for sure though… you’ll definitely see me coming in the LS2 Thunder GP Pro 👀😂 Hard to beat a helmet this bright out on track.
