The exhibition “Une Maison à Saint-Tropez, tables et récits intimes” at @isabellecastanier_architecture highlights about 20 designers, artists, and craftsmen committed to reducing their impact on the planet. The exhibition centers around the table, a place for refuge, reconciliation, and connection. I wanted to create a menu that coincided with the exhibition’s ethos, using all seasonal vegetables to exhibit their raw flavours and forms, inviting people to share these dishes around the table.

Menu 5th July: Courgette ribboned tarts with whipped lemon feta, mint, and basil. Devilled eggs with lemon and orange rayu, and beetroot microgreens. Leaves with beef tomato, spring onion, and ginger salsa. Muhammara with lemon and olive salsa, grissini. Crostini with burrata, grilled peach, and mustard microgreens. Charred datterini tomatoes with labneh & bazlama. Radishes with whipped Provençal honey butter. 48 hour focaccia with caramelised red onion, seeds, rosemary, and Provençal honey.

Such a pleasure to work with @gorpgirls and the talented @harrietsplates to bring together a menu to accompany a perfect few days of disconnecting from the world and reconnecting with nature 🌿

our final week in Amorgos! 🇬🇷🧿🌀💙

Amorgos is an amazing, very large island where I’ve also found my favourite cake shop :))

In Tholaria we found @kali.kardia.amorgos (Καλή Καρδιά). It was tiny, local cafe / restaurant and had about 10 dishes on the menu. I love when a restaurant doesn’t have an enormous menu, but instead has a few things that are done very well. That’s exactly what they do here.

We had a sausage stuffed with feta - super smoky and salty - with fried potatoes and oregano, tzatziki (of course), stuffed pepper with feta, and boiled greens.

The greens are called horta :)) they are wild/mountain greens, which can include things like vlita, chard and dandelion. They’re boiled and served with copious amounts of olive oil and lemon. SO good. I’m going to miss this a lot.

Thoralia is also the best spot to watch the sunset, which sets right in front of the restaurant over the hill.

kali kardia don’t make dessert, but they send you next door where you can have pie & ice cream :)) Kostantinos and his wife have been baking pies for over 38 years (side note: on this trip Cost has met over 17 other Kostantinos ). We had walnut pie, chocolate pie and vanilla ice cream

We also loved @to.limani.tis.kyra.katinas in Aegiali port, which was recommended to us by Dimitri, who owned the hotel we stayed at. Limani has been open for 46 years and is a real Amorgian institution. Recommend going and trying the patatato - one of Amorgos’ classic dishes: slow-cooked goat (sometimes lamb) with potatoes, tomato and spices.

we knew we had to see the monastery 🥹 It was a VERY hot uphill walk, but incredible and completely worth it.

We loved Chora too (the town next to the monastery), very beautiful to wander around and explore etc, has lots of yummy places to eat (shops were on the expensive side though).

in Lagada we loved Loudaros Taverna, which was recommended by lots of locals we met. Lagada is above Aegiali, opposite Tholaria, and is also well worth a visit.
