Being a woman on social media is a funny place.

Someone will make a comment about your body, but the moment you speak up about it, suddenly you’re too sensitive.

You’re told you shouldn’t read the comments, that you should just ignore them, or even worse, that it’s your fault because of the clothes you’re wearing.

But the reality is, it isn’t the woman’s fault.

Day in, day out, I get comments about my body.

I block, I delete, I ignore. But somehow, they always come back, like mould in an old house.

I share my travels. I share the people I meet, the cultures I experience and the incredible places I get to visit.

Yet somehow, for some people, the only thing worth commenting on is the size of my chest.

And it’s exhausting.

For years, I would wear clothes to hide my body. I’d cover myself up because I didn’t want that kind of attention.

But even then, people would still find a way to sexualise me.

I’ve travelled to countries where I’ve dressed more conservatively, both out of respect for the local culture and because that’s what I feel comfortable wearing.

But it doesn’t seem to matter what I wear. Someone will always find something to say.

And I think that’s what frustrates me the most.

Because why should I have to change the way I dress, the way I present myself, or even the content I create, just because someone else can’t look at a woman without sexualising her? by @harsh_lodha

One war shatters countless such dreams. Over 24,000 people are still displaced in Manipur and have besn for 3.5 years now. The government really needs to step up and do their job here. The collateral damage of this has affected lakhs of people.

I visited four different relief camps in Manipur and spoke to so many young people. It was heartbreaking to see a generation growing up in relief camps, some of them born into them.
These are the formative years of their lives, years that should be filled with learning, growing, and dreaming about the future. Instead, so many are growing up in uncertainty.
We owe this generation a chance at a better life. Manipur needs peace, and this crisis needs to be resolved, so that these children can finally have the future they deserve.
