Threads of Freedom
What began as a concept sketch in Gilgit-Baltistan has now become a completed public art installation exhibited at the @usembislamabad , Pakistan during the recent Freedom 250 celebration.
Together with my talented teammate, Saima Qadir @cookwithdadi_ , I had the privilege of designing and creating this Liberty Bell artwork as part of a project initiated by the Pakistan American Cultural Center (@pakistanamericanculturalcenter ) and the Lincoln Corners Pakistan Network.
Our artwork, "Threads of Freedom," uses the iconic crack of the Liberty Bell as a symbol of shared challenges and unfinished journeys toward freedom. Through the imagery of young people from Pakistan and the United States stitching the crack together, we wanted to highlight the values of Unity, Innovation, Progress, and Love Beyond Borders.
This project pushed us beyond our comfort zones—from working on a life-size fiberglass structure for the first time to overcoming logistical and environmental challenges during the creation process. Every challenge became part of the story behind this artwork.
I am grateful to everyone who supported us throughout this journey and thankful for the opportunity to represent Gilgit-Baltistan through art on such a meaningful platform.
This is just the beginning.
Over the coming days, I'll be sharing:
• Behind-the-scenes moments
• The complete creative process
• Stories from the project
• Podcast clips and interviews
• Lessons learned during the journey
Stay tuned for more updates.

“Threads of Freedom” was more than an artwork—it was a journey of learning, collaboration, problem-solving, and perseverance. From concept development in Gilgit-Baltistan to its exhibition at US Embassy Islamabad, every challenge became part of the story.

Grateful for the opportunity, the people who believed in us, and the lessons learned along the way.
