Award-Winning Actor 💫 Got a nice ring to it😏

Monday night, at the 37th annual Helen Hayes Awards, my co-star, Ryan Sellers, and I were presented with the the award for Best Supporting Performer for our joint portrayal of Caliban in The Tempest @roundhousetheatre 🙌🏾

Playing this character was the most challenging performance I have ever been tasked with. Literal blood, sweat, and tears were shed bringing this character to life (don’t tell Actors Equity 👀). This role has been on my bucket list for many years, so to get the opportunity to do this show, and to then be recognized on the biggest stage in DC has all been a dream come true. None of us get into this business for the accolades, but damn, it feels good to be recognized for your work.

I have so much gratitude for my village (y’all been blowing my DMs up since Monday! Haha). All praises are due to Allah! Without God, nothing I do is possible. And many thanks to the folks who helped make this dream a reality:

Oh shoot! Not me in the @washingtonpost 👀

For real though, thank you @peterjmarks for this incredibly generous review🙏🏾

There’s nothing better than having your hard work recognized. And of course, none of this would’ve been possible without our incredible directors @aaron.posner , and @pennandtellerlive, @roundhousetheatre, @pilobolus, and my other half @mrsupersock 👊🏾💥
