Here with @rainbow_labs for a two part workshop teaching kids how to become community organizers :) In part one, we studied an article from @liberationedu about formulating slogans. In part two, the students explored how they want to express themselves and what they could possibly say that would move the masses.

Overall this was an great experience but I have to say that even in an environment where self expression is foundational and encouraged… some of the kids struggled to find the words, so it was really great to see themselves get across the finish line line <3

As part of this program, these students are organizing a summit where they will continue their advocacy for Trans and Queer safety across all LAUSD schools. If you’re interested in reading the article we studied, it’s linked in my bio.

Going down memory lane sharing footage of the interview that lead me being selected for @tedxinglewoodca back in 2023. I’m grateful my friend captured the moment because looking back at it now is the reminder I needed of who I am and what lights me on fire. Some mentee and mentor portraits for Rainbow Labs x Haus Labs 💄

It’s difficult being a queer and trans adult in this moment, so my heart really goes out to the kids having to endure an onslaught of hatred and anti-trans legislation

While I can’t fix everything on my own, I can facilitate safe experiences that are never a given for our community and the younger ones coming up. It was healing for me to see teenagers that are so much more in touch with themselves than I was at that age, and it was such a privilege to make their portraits!

Dear 2024,
You gave me so much to be grateful for including so many wonderful connections and opportunities to step further into my purpose. Looking back on the moments of struggle and pain I can see how you were just setting me up for something better, so I’ll say thanks as we part ways. Looking forward to what 2025 has in store…hopefully more impact, creativity, community, and fun!

TL;DR: You don’t need to have life “figured out” by 30. Keep following what brings you joy, and life will help you figure the rest out.

In my 30s, every year has been about discovering more of me. I’ve learned who I am and how I want to show up—as a business partner, solopreneur, performer, friend, family member, and so many other roles. With each new layer, there’s been a part of me that wanted to retreat into what’s safe and familiar. But there’s always been a whisper pushing me forward, saying, “Don’t give up, you’ve got this!”

Most days, it feels like I’m building the plane while flying it, because the manual for my life didn’t exist. The best part of my 30s has been realizing that life is truly what I make of it. It’s not always easy or conventional, but every bump in the road is a reminder that I’m getting closer to the person I’m meant to be.
