Qualified for Panams quarterfinals tomorrow.
@degrootbjj finished his match with a kneebar and secured his spot for the next day.
And me, both of my opponents didn’t show up so got to save energy for the Big day.
Thank god for this opportunity, tomorrow we make it happen. 🙏🏼🥇

Haven BJJ is now officially affiliated with @thehousefc 🏯

Since our founding, we’ve been part of Team CheckMat. Now, we’re beginning a new chapter directly under The House FC, led by @gabrielrollo and @thiagoabreujj, the coaches of @degrootbjj.

For our members, very little changes day to day. This move strengthens our existing connection with The House and makes us officially part of their international team.

At international competitions, we’ll now register under The House FC. We can also approve your IBJJF membership requests directly, without waiting for external approval.

We left CheckMat on good terms and are grateful for everything they’ve given us over the years. Our loyalty lies with Gabriel and Thiago, as it has for the past 11 years, and we’re proud to stand alongside them as they move forward independently.

Excited for what’s ahead ⚓️ by @havenbjj

18 women showed up to class today. 18!!!!!
and when I saw the lineup I have to say I teared up a little. Some of the girls new, others have been with us for a few years. It takes time to grow a strong womens bjj community, but with enough dedication and the right gym environment, it will naturally happen.

This class used to have 3-4 women per week and some days I wondered if it was worth it. 3 years later and we don’t even fit in our little dojo anymore!

I’m super proud of what we’ve built at Haven and honestly I wish I had this as a whitebelt. Which is precisely the reason I will keep doing this for years to come 🤍
