Qualified for Panams quarterfinals tomorrow.
@degrootbjj finished his match with a kneebar and secured his spot for the next day.
And me, both of my opponents didn’t show up so got to save energy for the Big day.
Thank god for this opportunity, tomorrow we make it happen. 🙏🏼🥇

18 women showed up to class today. 18!!!!!
and when I saw the lineup I have to say I teared up a little. Some of the girls new, others have been with us for a few years. It takes time to grow a strong womens bjj community, but with enough dedication and the right gym environment, it will naturally happen.

This class used to have 3-4 women per week and some days I wondered if it was worth it. 3 years later and we don’t even fit in our little dojo anymore!

I’m super proud of what we’ve built at Haven and honestly I wish I had this as a whitebelt. Which is precisely the reason I will keep doing this for years to come 🤍

“Injuries are part and parcel of our sport.”

That is Savage, one of the Head Coaches at Haven BJJ, and he would know better than I do.

This one meant a lot to read. The credit sits with the athletes though, they did the hard part. My job is just making sure the next step fits the sport they are going back to.

Thanks for the trusting me with the rehab of your athletes Savage 🙏
