I’m excited to share this recent portrait I shot for The @obsmagazine of the wonderful Holly Dawson and her beloved hens, marking the launch of her new book All of Us Atoms: A memoir about facing memory loss at 40, published by @canongatebooks

This shoot was an absolute joy. When Holly mentioned her treehouse and chooks in the garden, I knew we had to make the most of her beautiful, personal setting—it felt like a perfect reflection of her story.

This assignment also served as a reminder of one of my go-to pieces of advice when people ask how to build a career in photography: aside from knowing how to take a good photo, being available and saying “yes” goes a long way.

The call from Alex at The Observer came in the night before the shoot. She had a story she needed covered in Lewes the very next day, and wanted a fast turnaround (as is often the case with editorial work). I was free, said yes immediately, and soon found myself on the phone with Holly, planning the shoot. As soon as she described her garden and treehouse, I knew we were in for something special.

Not long after that call, I received another request from a different publication for a shoot in London—also the next day. I knew I could make it work. I booked my train to Lewes for the early morning and set off at 7am. By 9:30am I was on the ground, meeting Holly and her hens at 10am. We mapped out the shoot and were wrapped by noon.

From there, I jumped on a 1pm train back to London, edited the shoot en route, delivered final images to The Observer by 3pm, and headed out for the second portrait session at 4pm—just in time for a 4:45 start. Both sets of edits were wrapped and delivered before 10am the next morning.

A busy day, but one I’ll remember fondly. I’m so proud of the resulting images and grateful to have been trusted with this story. Huge thanks to @agentortiz at The Observer for the commission, and of course to @h_o_l_l_y_dawson (and her hens!) for such a warm welcome. 🐓 by @hayleybenoit

NEW WORK: I’m beyond excited to finally share this 9-month project I worked on at Pinewood Studios! Andor S2 has truly been one of the best gigs I’ve had to date, working as both a Portrait Gallery Photographer and 2nd Unit Stills Photographer. I’m still pinching myself over this incredible opportunity, and I’m so grateful to everyone at Lucasfilm and my amazing team for making it all happen. @lucasfilm @andorofficial

On top of everything, my portrait of Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma made the cover of @empiremagazine 🙌🏾 There’s nothing I love more than seeing my work in print, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have it featured in the January 2025 issue.

Happy Galentine’s to all the incredible girlies, sisters, and besties bigging each other up! 💕

Here are two absolute beauties I shot the other week on a test—Florence @anothermotherldn & Persis @firstlondon —at my home studio. Loved exploring the connection between friends (who, fun fact, had just met that day!). It’s been a while since I shot fashion/beauty, but this was so much fun—I even styled it myself! Big love to Tianna for the gorgeous HMUA magic.

PHOTO SERIES: Summer Solstice, Lowestoft 2026

It had been a while since I’d celebrated the summer solstice with my family. This year, we headed to Lowestoft, the most easterly town in the UK and went to First Light Festival, where the country’s first midsummer sunrise is celebrated on the beach.

We wild camped on the beach together too, something I grew up doing a lot with my family but hadn’t done in a while. At 4am, everyone gathered for yoga, listened to atmospheric music and watched the sun come up, then ran into the sea.

Such a lovely way to start the longest day.

NEW WORK: It’s finally here, I can finally share with you one of my favourite assignments to date for @travelandleisure - still can’t believe my image made the front cover of the December issue too!!! 😆

Super chuffed about this one, thanks @skyesenterfeit for making this happen.

😊It’s always been a dream of mine to visit Edinburgh again after visiting as a wee child in the 90’s… I have no recollection of this as I was so young - So to see it again through fresh eyes, and photograph this for an assignment was pure magic. ✨

NEW WORK: Kathryn Hunter as Eedy for Andor S2, Syrils mum meeting Dedra for the first time Episode 4.

One of my favourite characters in the show, and definitely one of the funniest days on set. There was so much laughter and happiness whenever Kathryn was around she was an absolute joy to photograph.
