Still cannot quite believe this happened.

Estée Lauder was one of those brands I knew and loved long before I ever imagined I would work with them. Their perfumes were already on my shelf, their foundations were already part of my makeup collection, and when I was younger, buying one of my first higher-end foundations after years of drugstore makeup felt like such a big deal.

So fast forward to being asked to work with Estée Lauder and becoming the face of their virtual makeup assistant…

It was a pinch me moment.

And then seeing my own face on the App Store? I still can’t quite process that one.

There are some modelling jobs that you’re grateful for, and then there are the ones that make you stop and think, how did little old me get here?

Proudest moment of my life so far!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that when I launched @blindbeautyuk it would take me on this journey.

I was so honoured yesterday to be invited along with all the other winners of @thesmallawards to an event hosted by The Chancellor of the Exchequer @rachelreevesmp at Downing Street.

Obviously couldn’t miss out on the once in a lifetime opportunity and had to get a picture in front of Number 10.

The quickest way out of the storm is through it.

Have your moment. Feel it. Cry if you need to. Then hold your head up, pull yourself together and keep it moving.

You can’t change what happened, but you can choose not to let it keep you there.

A picture can say a thousand words and still leave out so much of the story.

There’s nothing about this photo that says I’m blind.

No cane.
No obvious signs.
No visible indication that I have a disability.

Just me.

Sometimes I can see more than people expect, sometimes I can’t.
Sometimes I need help, sometimes I don’t.
Sometimes people can tell I have a visual impairment, sometimes they can’t.

That’s the thing about blindness. It works on a spectrum and doesn’t have a ‘look’. It’s unique to each individual. Both in the way they look and in the way they see.

A beautiful photo can capture a moment, but it never tells the whole story.

I’ve not been very active lately.

Life has felt heavier than usual, and I’ve needed time to focus on myself, my mental health and finding my way through some difficult days.

Living with an invisible disability has taught me that some of the hardest battles are the ones nobody else can see. The strength it takes to keep going. The grief. The uncertainty. The healing.

Some days I feel strong. Other days I’m rebuilding from scratch. Both are part of the journey.

For anyone else navigating through a difficult season right now, be gentle with yourself. Healing isn’t linear and progress isn’t always visible.

Sometimes simply getting through the day is enough.

Disability doesn’t hold me back. What does? A world that wasn’t built for me.

I founded @blindbeautyuk not in spite of being disabled, but because of it. Because beauty should be inclusive, accessible, and led by those too often left out of the story.

Blind Beauty isn’t just skincare. It’s a call for change.
For access. For representation. For visibility on our terms. Because we deserve to be seen, celebrated, and included.

This Disability Pride Month, I’m not shrinking to fit anyone’s idea of “inspirational.” I’m building something that makes space for people like me. Proudly, visibly, and without compromise.

Join the movement, not just for beauty, but for belonging.

No filter on the truth: healing isn’t linear.

Some days I feel strong. Other days I’m rebuilding from scratch. But every part of this journey counts; the slow mornings, the loud thoughts, the small wins no one sees.

There’s power in the pause, in the softness, in simply showing up. And that’s exactly what I’m doing. In my own way, in my own time.

Meet the Founder @hazal.baybasin

After losing my sight in 2019, I quickly discovered how inaccessible the world can be. Especially for blind and visually impaired people and specifically within the beauty industry.

The beauty industry already feels intimidating for many sighted customers. But as a blind woman, I suddenly found myself excluded from a world I’d once felt at home in. Products I’d used and loved for years became impossible to distinguish. Skincare routines that once brought me joy now brought extreme stress and frustration.

That frustration became fuel and in 2022, I launched Blind Beauty. A skincare brand built with accessibility at its core. Designed to be inclusive for blind and visually impaired people, but suitable for everyone.

Because beauty should never be out of reach. It should feel welcoming, empowering, and truly inclusive, regardless of ability or experience. At Blind Beauty, we’re building a future where accessibility is standard, not an afterthought. Where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.

Still can’t believe it… WE WON!

Being shortlisted was already such an honour but taking home the award feels surreal.

I started @blindbeautyuk to challenge beauty standards and make the industry more accessible for people with sight loss. To have that mission recognised means everything. This is just the beginning!

This win isn’t just for me, it’s for everyone who supports the Blind Beauty Movement. Thank you so much for every like, share and purchase.

Huge thank you to @thesmallawards for such a fun and inspiring evening celebrating all the amazing small businesses making a difference.

Also have to thank to the best friend any girl could ask for! @iuliaa16 thank you for always standing by me, showing up, and supporting this journey every step of the way.
