This illustration is my baby, and people have been discovering it again, thank you @violadavis for sharing! 🥹 If you are new to my work, or have been following me since the beginning say hi in the comments! Honestly, it’s so nice to hear your lovely words, and keeps me going sometimes when I’m battling the algorithm! 😅 A reminder that this is available as a high quality art print! There’s also a child version, and two German translations!

An idea born from my little brain that thinks too deeply and too much sometimes! P.s. did you notice the bus's destination is 'nobody knows', because no one knows where they're going in life! 🥰 by @hazel.mead

🩷🩷 Here’s to the people weave in and out of your tapestry of life. Some leave strong imprints. Some pop into your brain at the most random times. Some haunt you. Some you struggle to remember their names and faces even though they were in your life for years. Some you wished you had more time with. Some leave scars. Some meant a lot. Some vanish so suddenly. Some are only connections because of chance. Strangers chatting to strangers on journeys only to part ways and never speak again is my favourite genre of connection! It’s magical, beautiful, sad to me!

A love letter to those who have experienced pregnancy loss. These pieces are for you ❤️ it's one of those topics that feels very private, hard to talk about, isolating and affects more people than you realise. So we wanted to go there and shine a light on it in @theobgynmum's book Bloody Powerful.
The pregnancy loss chapter was absolutely the most challenging to illustrate. I wanted the pieces to be sensitive and meaningful and created with care, to complement Brooke’s kind, wise and reassuring words and expertise!

🥹 Swipe for the German translation I did!! This one’s been going a bit crazy, teachers and parents have been buying, and it’s sold out in the shop! :D But I’m ordering more tonight, so if you want one, order soon and I’ll make sure I’ve got enough in the restock! 🥰 X by @hazel.mead

Every now and then I have a lightbulb idea and this was one of them, so am proud of this piece! Friendships being like flowers! So many cute metaphors came to mind! Hope you like it! X #illustration #friendship by @hazel.mead

💋 Happy International Kissing day! Do you have a favourite type of kiss? What was the best kiss you ever had? 👀

💕 Fun fact, this piece struck up a conversation between me and my now husband, just before we started dating, because I'd asked on stories to my audience, what is the word for 'kiss' in your native language, and he taught me that Polish has a lot of different words for kiss! 😁 by @hazel.mead

Okay, to counteract the sexy sexy ones I post, I like to also post this as a reminder! It might seem like everyone’s doing it all the time, songs, media etc. but it’s not necessarily the case! Had so much fun with this concept - you know when you’re living in a flat and hear a dodgy noise, from a neighbour/TV and think people are doing it, but maybe they’re just banging a nail into a wall. That’s the inspo!

🍒The cherry on top of an amazing 3 year book project to advertise Bloody Powerful by Brooke Vandermolen, and illustrated by me! Sometimes I have to pinch myself and appreciate the projects I get to do, and the amazing people I get to work with. The mural is up until the end of May! #bloodypowerful by @hazel.mead

👀 Which one are you today? My aim was to add relatability, humanity and a sprinkle of humour to my illustrations for Brooke’s book!

This is another favourite piece of mine, the main illustration to introduce a whole chapter about hormones!! We’re drip feeding you sneak peeks here, but there’s so much more to this book!

"I wanted to create a book that put all this in one place so women can say, you know what, I know what could happen to me."

Dr Brooke Vandermolen speaking at the launch of her new book 'Bloody Powerful'. Illustrated by Hazel Mead, this book is for every woman stuck in the 'information gap' and navigating the jargon and myths about their gynaecological health online.
