It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This is our Super Bowl! Our fundraising directly supports violence prevention programs at Howard University and Spelman College.

In 2025, we donated $42,000 to these programs; our goal this year is to raise $50,000 for our partners. Help us reach our goal by sharing our aims with a colleague, friend, family member and loved ones. Ask them to donate using the link in our bio. taken in Needwood Golf Course by @hbcugolftournament

.:: In a world where golf brands think it’s okay to perpetuate domestic violence, let’s be the people that show up to fight it! Join @hbcugolftournament on October 9th and let’s raise funds to help survivors! These funds go to support domestic violence prevention programs at HBCUs and are truly helping people in the worst situations! I ask that you come golf, party or simply donate and be a part of this great cause! Let’s not just speak out, but let’s show up!

Imma call this series Forehead Stories…

Because Gotdam that’s a lot of forehead. Share your story. Let it out.

Acknowledge your behavior. Own it. Name it. That’s how you heal.

I’m open to holding space. Chat with me. Send a DM. #DVAM taken in Needwood Golf Course by @hbcugolftournament

Supporting survivors and preventing domestic violence takes resources. Gathering is one way we can help put those resources where they’re needed.

Last year, Bison Impact Group donated $42,000 to programs at Howard and Spelman that support survivors and work to prevent domestic and intimate partner violence. This Friday, the @hbcugolftournament brings alumni, friends, and supporters together to continue that work and spend a day together on the course.

I’ll lead two 30-minute restorative yoga sessions designed with golfers in mind, offering time to move, breathe, and reset during the day.

Info:
Friday, October 9 | 8am - 4pm
Needwood Golf Course, Derwood, MD
Yoga at 12:30 & 1:30 p.m., included with event registration.

Register through the link in @hbcugolftournament’s bio or my Stories.

Swipe to take a look back at our time last year.

Day 6 of 31 days

Examining our behavior is the work. We must consider what we bring into the relationships we occupy. taken in Needwood Golf Course by @hbcugolftournament

I’d still choose golf. I’d just do a few things differently.

Less chasing distance. More short game. Fewer impulse club purchases. And a lot less pressure to have it all figured out.

But the biggest change? I’d enjoy being a beginner instead of rushing through it. Every bad shot, small win and friendship became part of a journey I wouldn’t trade.

If you could start golf again, what would you do differently?

Save this for yourself or send it to a friend starting their golf journey.
