Collected some faux fur today, which for me is mainly milkweed and fountain grass. These are the materials that many people think are actual fur in my originals and are probably my favorite materials to work with because they are so convincing. And they are just very beautiful on their own too. I don't only use them as fur. I use them to convey energy, light, and movement. Or just as beautiful textures in my mandalas. by @hbee_art

Oh, how I miss my ferret babies so. They filled my heart with the warmest joy you could imagine. They made me laugh with their silliness and amazed me with their intelligence. Their curiosity and boldness were inspirational. Just looking at photos of ferrets makes me feel lighter and brighter.

This isn't a portrait of any particular ferret. Was just making a cute face with the materials I have.

This little one is coming with me to the @peoria.art.guild Fine Art Fair this Saturday and Sunday!

This little 8x10" is coming with me to the @peoria.art.guild Fine Art Fair at the end of the month!

I like to make smaller more affordable originals to bring along, but also making these smaller pieces is a fun challenge. It's fun to see how delicate I can make my images. This is the smallest skeleton I've made in this style. A good learning experience that could lead to maybe exploring scaled down detailed parts of bigger pieces

This is made from gravel, sand, pyrite, turquoise, dried switch grass and ammobium flower, moss and round headed bush clover seeds on plywood stained with turmeric and charcoal. by @hbee_art

The evolution of HBee Owls. 7 owls spanning 17 or 18 years. The first owl was done in 2008 or 2009, the very early years of exploring plants as art materials. The last one I just finished this year. So fun to see my style and techniques change over my plant art odyssey :) by @hbee_art

Have you ever been having a really hard time and all you want, more than anything in the world, is a hug from your special person? A hug that would make you feel calm and safe. This longing was the starting point of this piece.

I've done another piece about a hug before, but it was in the form of a mandala. I really love hugs. Hugs for all different occasions! I wanted this one to be a loving and gentle kind of embrace.

I hope for all of you that you have access to quality hugs :)

This piece will be coming with me to the @peoria.art.guild Fine Art Fair at the end of the month.
