Here’s a little look at what I got up to this summer! 🌞👀

It’s been a super busy few months, which has meant I have been pretty quiet online. I plan to do, make and share lots of fun things this autumn, though, so stay tuned… by @headlessgreg

I can finally share the record sleeve I designed for this year’s Secret 7” exhibition! 💿✨

My design was inspired by the song Hope For The Future by Bastille (@bastilledan). I particularly liked the lyric “I wrote your name down on the hillside in my mind” and wanted to visually represent how someone can live on inside your mind long after a relationship has ended.

I had a lovely time creating this artwork while listening to the song on repeat. And it was amazing to see it on display alongside so many beautiful artworks at 180 Studios (@180.studios). Thank you to Secret 7” (@secret7s) for having me involved!

The auction raised over £115,000 for War Child (@warchilduk). This money will help them protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children living through war. 💛

This is not my design for Secret 7”… but it almost was. 💿✨

When I first decided to enter the Secret 7”(@secret7s) open call this year, I was going to create an illustration inspired by Let’s Do It Again! By The Last Dinner Party.
I had an idea for an illustration of a car loaded up with lots of body parts on top - I even sketched it out. And then I changed my mind completely and went in a different direction. 🚗🎨

I’ll be able to share the illustration I did end up creating at the start of September (it an anonymous auction so I am not allowed to until then).

In the meantime, all 700 record sleeves are currently being exhibited at 180 Studios (@180.studios) in London until August 30th. And the online auction is now live on the Secret 7” website. I’d love to know if you can work out which one is mine!

Proceeds from the auction will help War Child (@warchilduk) protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children living through war. 💛

Super excited to share that I’ve been selected for this year’s Secret 7” exhibition! 💿✨

Secret 7” (@secret7s) invites artists from around the world to create unique record sleeves. The 700 chosen sleeves are then exhibited anonymously before being auctioned in support of War Child (@warchilduk), with the artist’s identity remaining a secret until the record is sold.

📍 The exhibition runs from the 19th to the 30th of August 2026 at 180 Studios (@180.studios) in London.

Proceeds from the auction will help War Child protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children living through war. 💛

👀 I’ll be able to share my artwork once the exhibition and auction have closed…

New illustration project! 🏺✨

ECHOES was a series of free, artist-led creative workshops inspired by myths which took place in libraries across Birmingham this summer. Run by Myth Today (@mythtodayuk), the project aimed to make mythology more accessible by encouraging children to generate fresh ideas from ancient tales.

I had lots of fun creating an illustrated poster which nods to well-known myths while leaving plenty of space for imagination and play. Swipe along to see some of my initial digital sketches.

Thank you so much to Oonagh from Myth Today for getting me involved - it was lovely working with you! 💛 by @headlessgreg

Another tasty new illustration project! 🍪✨

Last year, I was hired to create the logo and a series of brand illustrations for Scran (@scran_ldn), a London-based food company specialising in artisanal bread, sandwiches and cookies.

This is the first time I’ve been commissioned to illustrate food, and I’d love to do more in future! 🍅👀

Big shout out to Jenny from Mind the Cork (@mindthecork) who recommended me for this job. I really appreciate it! 💛 by @headlessgreg

Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. 🌸✨

I recently designed a poster and flyer for Blossom Bash 2026, a spring-themed party at Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens.

This is the third time I’ve worked with the National Trust (@nationaltrust) and it’s my favourite project so far. I had a lovely time playing with fun floral shapes and creating a cute little geometric bee. 🐝 by @headlessgreg

I used to be a proper little bookworm when I was younger. 📚🪱✨ Then I took several years off from reading to doomscroll on social media instead.

Having started reading again over the past couple of years, I wanted to write about why it can be difficult to reignite a reading habit and also share some books that have helped me do so.

In the latest issue of Headless Friends, I share my reading-related thoughts alongside a list of the best books I read in 2025. Swipe to see some minimalistic, wormy illustrations of my top titles and visit my website to hear about why I loved each of them so much.

“When you’re queer and neurodivergent, you often spend a huge amount of energy in traditional workplaces just… existing. You’re constantly code-switching, educating, or bracing for the next microaggression. Working here, with a team that shares a language of lived experience, removes all of that. It’s not just a personal relief, it’s a profound advantage.”

Cecilia Righini is the founder of Studio Lutalica (@studiolutalica), an inclusive design studio which uses creativity to empower women and LGBTQ+ communities. 🌈✨

Studio Lutalica recently turned five years old, and so did Headless Greg! 🎂🎈 To celebrate our shared milestone, Cecilia joined me for a chat about the joys of working with like-minded creatives and what it really takes to run a value-driven business.

You can read the full interview in the new issue of Headless Friends, which is available to read for free online now - link in bio.
