Today is World Mental Health Day, and we realized something.

There’s a lot of information about mental health and how we should cope, but not a lot of information for what that looks like in practice.

We wanted to talk about the practical side of caring for your mental health beyond the buzzwords, and the advice that does not always fit into real life.

So what is one tip you’ll be taking with you. And if you have a practical tip to share, let us know in the comments. Someone might need to hear it.

Q4 is always the time when people remember that they have a long list of goals that they haven’t achieved and try to do all of them in the next 3 months. But that only leads to burnout and an anticlimatic end to the year.

Just a reminder to take what matters into this last quarter and leave the pressure to do everything behind.

Share this with a friend who needs to be reminded that they don’t have to cram a year’s worth of goals into 3 months💜

If we had a burnout emergency kit, this would be it.

The items in these goodie bags are some of the things that have grounded us and helped us decompress during our own seasons of burnout, and we thought it was only right to share them with you.
Now we want to hear from you 🫵🏾. What would you add to your own Burnout Emergency Kit? Let us know in the comments.

Therapy doesn’t always happen behind a desk 🤍

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to join @healthehelpers and speak about burnout, boundaries, and what it can look like to care for yourself while constantly caring for others.

Such a wholesome event filled with good conversations, games, food, and community — and apparently a few autograph requests too 😭😂

I also created a free burnout resource to help you recognize what burnout looks like for you and build strategies to prevent it before you hit empty.

It’s linked in my bio 🤍

Grateful for spaces like this. Until the next one ✨

Sometimes, the most helpful thing we can do is be willing to have the conversation. There are many misconceptions about suicide & knowing what’s true can help us respond with more understanding and weaken the stigma.

This Suicide Prevention Month, we are unpacking a few common myths and sharing some mental health resources worth knowing.

Share this with someone who may need it, and remind them that they are not alone💜

Use the link in our bio to learn more about common suicide myths and facts.

Before Chinwendum joins us at Connect & Thrive, we wanted you to get to know the person behind the profession.
So we asked her a few questions about mental health, life and everything in between 👀
Want to hear more from her, come meet her in-person at Connect and Thrive!

The TV shows lied to us💀. Undergrad friendships don’t happen randomly, they require intentionality.
Which is why we’re creating a space for exactly THAT.
On September 12, join us at Connect & Thrive, a free, relaxed space for Black students to prioritize your mental health and connect with people who get it.
If you’ve been nervous about making the first move, consider this your sign. We’re holding a seat for you. 🫶🏾
