POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hello! 👋

Somewhere in the midst of Christmas, I surpassed the 10k mark on Instagram! So I thought it was time to reintroduce myself, and do a little post about us and our account for anyone new here!

This account was born out of a love for interiors, old buildings and photography, and has always been my little creative outlet. I love sharing our home, our projects, our garden etc, and chatting to others with similar interests.

We really got a lot done in 2025, and I’m excited to see what 2026 brings! We have a few projects in the pipeline, but essentially our aim is to carry on renovating, whilst spending more time as a family. As last year was a complete graft to be honest!

Thanks for being here, and I hope you stick around to see our home progress and evolve 💚 by @heapscottage

As we approach the end of 2025 I thought I would share with you a bit more on the plans we have for the house. It’s been an absolute graft of a year working on the kitchen and living space, and I’m aware that most of what I share has been of those spaces. In fact, I’m pretty sure that I haven’t shared some of these unfinished spaces at all!

But we are in fact living in a renovation, we have holes in walls, half studded out walls, moth eaten carpets, and a lot of stuff that just doesn’t have its place yet.

We are completely reconfiguring the house, and doing all of the work ourselves, whilst living here, one project at a time… and saving up again in between. We currently have a very interesting open plan bedroom situation, with a lovely feature hole in the wall and exposed flue 🤣 and the only loo in the house is en-suite to the main bedroom… which makes hosting interesting 🙈

But it’s all fun and games, we absolutely love it here, and we have some really exciting projects planned for 2026. First on the agenda after the Christmas break, is to finish the pantry, followed by starting work on the main bathroom! We also have a few exciting garden/barn/outbuilding projects in the pipeline this year, so watch this space! by @heapscottage

I’ve sort of fallen out of love with Instagram at the moment. It used to be a real creative outlet for me, somewhere to share my photography and interior designs, and somewhere to connect and be inspired. But, I don’t know, it just seems like it’s all hooks and ads now. Or at least that’s what I’m being shown. So I just haven’t wanted to share anything recently.

We’re in the thick of working on our daughter’s room at the moment too, so really I do have plenty to share. Do let me know if you are interested to see, and I’ll post some updates.
Anyway, I took this little video the other morning as I was letting the hens out, and it was the first time in so long that I thought, you know what, I think I’ll post this. So here you are. I hope you’re all well. Amy x by @heapscottage

A little bit of life of late

One day the front of our house won’t be a resting place for building materials… one day

Almost time for the Mini to go into hibernation for the winter!

Hello again! We’ve had a great summer, I can’t believe it’s almost over!
We’ve had so much fun but Tom and I are also completely knackered because we’ve been hard at work getting our son’s room finished… but what a room eh!
Pretty proud of this one. I love my historic interiors and antiques, but this room was so fun to design!! I mean what’s not to love about a climbing wall, mezzanine den and a loft net!
There’s still some bits to finish, but I couldn’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to in here! by @heapscottage

U N D E R M A I N T E N A N C E

Gosh am I busy.

I’m taking a break guys. Maybe for a week, maybe forever, who knows. But real life needs some maintenance at the moment.

Nothing’s wrong, all is fine. I am just so busy right now with work, renovations, the house, kids, family, friends, groups I’m involved in/volunteer for etc etc etc. So for me personally Instagram is and should always be the first thing to go to free up some space (in my head more than anything!)

Those of you who actually know me, I’ll still be here on my personal account (without the editing, ads and insights!)

Have a lovely summer, thanks for all of your lovely support always ❤️ see you around… by @heapscottage

There’s not a day that I don’t wake up incredibly grateful for this life we have 🤍

For our neighbours for welcoming us here to this unusual but oh so lovely community. For the greenhouse I thought only existed in stately homes 🤣 For the opportunity to bring up children in this magical place 🤍

Our gorgeous new runner and doormat is from the new @hug__rug x @sallyswannell collection, and the greenhouse and vegetable garden designs just felt so perfect for our home (Ad).

Our kitchen finally feels finished!

We have a backsplash!! And with Tom’s talents as a stonemason (@mainstonecarving ), and our incredible @thornhillrangecookers cooker, I knew the backsplash tiles had to be pretty special to really finish off this space!

I’ve talked before about the design plan for our kitchen, but essentially, I wanted a space that sat somewhere in between old and new. A modern family kitchen that also made you question - has that always been there?

When looking for tiles, I stumbled across @notquitepast and was instantly intrigued by their traditional delft tiles that are customisable with AI.

My views on AI had generally been quite pessimistic I have to say, but this was using AI to create something beautiful, and deeply personal.

We have been able to tell the story of us, through our tiles, and in the heart of our home too. Past homes, pets and places are immortalised, along side the stonemasonry tools and barn owls that feature daily in our lives. And the snail… well that’s our little family in joke 😉

But, honestly, I am so over the moon with how these tiles have transformed this space! Let me know what you think… and what tiles would you design?
