This year was the 3rd year in a row seeing Declan McKenna- bringing me to 5 total shows. The first time I saw him was in March 2018 when he played at the @veraproject with a baby Chappell Roan as his opener. This year I saw him on his first ever arena tour opening for Sabrina Carpenter and it was such a special moment for me to be there wearing three layers of his merch and screaming every lyric from the 300s level like I was in the front row.

I added my top album of the month stats at the end, July is Atavista by Childish Gambino (who I had tickets for but the show was canceled). Interesting to see how I mostly listened to people I saw this year!

Three shows on the calendar for 2025 so far but really guys, we’re trying to slow down next year! by @heartoffiction

How lucky are we?! That we get to make each other tea and spend our days together because we love each other!!

Ahoy from the Lady Washington!

I got to live out my pirate dreams (even if it was during peak heat in a national heat wave) 🤭🏴‍☠️ This boat was used while filming Curse of the Black Pearl and I got to help hoist and lower her sails! The shorts I was wearing are from Pieces of Eight, the gift shop outside of the Pirates ride in Disneyland, and they have little illustrations of scenes from the ride on them.

Arcade Fire is larger than life but Régine really stole my heart both nights. I’m still feeling every single emotion about being lucky enough to catch this band twice on this tour… each set list was completely different and I am so overwhelmed that I got to see all of my favorite songs between the two nights. Not to mention getting barricade in Vancouver and getting high fives from these rock gods. Sorry to anyone who was near me in the pit while I sobbed (literally, ugly cried) to some of the most important songs ever written. This was the most anticipated concert of my life and also the most emotion I’ve ever experienced over music. @arcadefire thank you for putting 10 years of therapy into your performance each night, y’all truly have something special. taken in Rogers Arena by @heartoffiction

An ode to Snell Hall.

It’s only appropriate that I post this in the wee hours of the morning. I often said that I experienced Stockholm syndrome in regards to Snell and as I sit here missing it it must be true. We went through a lot together in the years Covid didn’t take from us.

I could say blood sweat and tears happened here but (if you’re a professor don’t read this part) I experienced everything from cutting my hand open on the first day of sculpture, burning my hand on the foil stamper in the photo studio, getting electrocuted in the darkroom, setting my pants on fire in the welding room, taking a nap inside my art instillation at 7 am only to head to an 8 am, ordering pizza to the printmaking studio, running out of the printing room sobbing after being dumped over the phone…. To say I left a part of myself in that building would be putting it lightly.

I have enough pictures of me crying over printers to be a whole post in it’s entirety. To all of the late nights (and subsequently the sleep my mom lost over worrying about me getting home safe) I certainly won’t miss you. I won’t miss the hours crying over printers while trying to drown out the pain with Elton John. I’ll never forget the unique trauma bond that I share with anyone who was in Snell late at night, y’all are the real ones. (Fellow art majors drop your favorite Snell memories in the comments)

Four years ago today I gave Benny a giant hug after officially registering as a student at Oregon State University (last pic). Last month I completed my journey at this school by graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Designs and Minors in Photography, Art History, and Studio Art with a focus on sculpture. I got to sit with my two best friends at commencement and spend the day eating pizza and cupcakes with my family who made the long drive down. I gave Benny one last hug before saying goodbye to start my next journey 🧡🖤🦫 taken in Oregon State University by @heartoffiction
