There’s too much to say about this year at Orange Media Network and KBVR-FM. So I’ll say this, it’s been the best. Thank you to everyone who made this year fantastic, you know who you are 💕💕💕

This year was the 3rd year in a row seeing Declan McKenna- bringing me to 5 total shows. The first time I saw him was in March 2018 when he played at the @veraproject with a baby Chappell Roan as his opener. This year I saw him on his first ever arena tour opening for Sabrina Carpenter and it was such a special moment for me to be there wearing three layers of his merch and screaming every lyric from the 300s level like I was in the front row.

I added my top album of the month stats at the end, July is Atavista by Childish Gambino (who I had tickets for but the show was canceled). Interesting to see how I mostly listened to people I saw this year!

Three shows on the calendar for 2025 so far but really guys, we’re trying to slow down next year!

How lucky are we?! That we get to make each other tea and spend our days together because we love each other!!

Our 22nd (out of 24) annual dad and daughter opening day of lake fishing was a cold and soggy one. We caught many minnows, one keeper, a few stories, and “the one” that got away.

Thank you to everyone who worked, was a DJ, trained, mentored, called in, and tuned in during my three years at @kbvrfm and @orangemedianetwork. I still can’t believe I was the manager for a whole year? So thankful for the people (especially @notstrandberg) who have fought to keep college media and college radio alive so that students can have opportunities like this. When I toured OMN I knew I’d find a home there and although I ended up in a much different position than I imagined, I’ve definitely left a piece of my heart on the fourth floor of the SEC 💜 thank you KBVR for letting me rebrand, reorganize, recruit, and SORT 4000 DAM CDs!!! I feel like I really got to make my time there my own. (Last pic is me sobbing in the booth after my last ever radio show)

Hello! This is Laurel, the station manager from the 2021-2022 staff. First of all, I’m so excited for @andres_dls04 to take over the station that I came to call my own. But I also would like to leave you with a love note to my staff. This team was so incredible to work with, we accomplished so many things this year that either hadn’t been done in a few years or had never been done before. One of the promises I made when I got hired was that my staff would sort and label all of the CDs in our vault. This little team stuck out the grind right through our last day of employment and together we labeled, categorized, alphabetized, and entered into spreadsheets 3,996 CDs this year. Thanks to their dedication to the station, we’re leaving behind a much more accessible collection of music for future DJs to use for many years to come. Thank you all for being goofy and dealing with everything head-on, I’ll never forget my time here. And thank you to all of the DJs that joined us this year, the station wouldn’t run without you. Coming at ya with another committee spotlight! Laurel Brinson is leading the signage & wayfinding team which focuses on creating banners and other signage for the venue. Laurel loves event planning so she was very excited to join the capstone committee and share her talents.
