Return of the moon in Taurus
on the day of my solar return
August 5th
Apparently this only happens every 19 years..
A rebirth - my dear witchy wonder friends who know far more than I about astrology say
Resonating relatability, a time to let go of what is not serving me
Obstacles obstructing,
my growth, loving & living more fully
Deciding in dedication who I want to be
My 5th week of therapy
A new depth, breadth, expanding
feeling love, compassion, joy, pride,
for all the multitudes of me
Parts work acquainting
baby, toddler, seven adolescence, 16, 27, 38
They say time slows down when you’re learning
Let me be a student of this wonder filled world,
this mysterious universe
in the depths and expanses within me
a reflection
light on water
you are me, all time, infinity
grateful for now, from end, and to the beginning

If God is Love,
and we are made in the image,
then we are love incarnate
and fear is the doubt,
the devil

I could love you for all lifetimes

“MOTH” takes us through an ancestral drama as a young woman returns to her family home in search of answers about her grandmother’s past. As she unearths more and more artifacts from the attic, the veil between space and time grows thinner. Represented by movement, theater, and live music by Sonic Butterfly.

Anxiety
An angst living inside of me
a rattling
Battling
Rat gnawing
Carving scars
Incessantly introspectively
Security shattering
Noise clattering
Bastard bullies
Continually chattering
Deep dark
Secret shadow sentiments
Saying shit that
Matters to me
Thoughts scattering
Can’t control
Fleeting feelings faltering
Falling flat
Small talk
Complimentary flattering
Cycles circling
finding myself
where I always seem to be
Here, inside of me
Fist to cuffs
Grappling

Dance has often been listed as the most physically demanding profession in the U.S., due to the necessity for stamina, flexibility, strength, and coordination. These artists are also incredible athletes in their own right, and fuse the two so seamlessly it makes us all marvel and want to move our own bodies with the expansive inspiration we absorb from simply watching. I argue however, that the strength and capacity does not stop at merely the physical but expands deeply into the mental and spiritual. To create not only one piece but to string together a series of pieces to tell a story, convey evocative emotion, cathartically express deep feelings, to alchemize the human experience in the form of bodies moving.. it is amongst the most luscious, labor intensive, dedicatedly demanding, and yet ephemerally rewarding avenues of artistic expression. I will forever be captivated by these powerful creative geniuses. I am so deeply grateful for the time past, present, and future I have spent in collaboration with them. @devdancetheater
