A power house sextet highlighting trailblazing musicians and composers in Seattle’s jazz, experimental, funk and improvisation scenes.

Led by frequent collaborators @saxophonejess (sax / flute), @kateplayssax, Heather Bentley @heatherbviola (viola), with the dynamic rhythm section of @joedoriamusic (piano) @jonti_siman (bass) and @chrisicasiano (drums).

Featuring original compositions, compositions by female composers, and expansive improvisations, this will be a night of new music not to be missed!

This weekend sharing the LAST showing of a collaborative piece "as above, so below" at the Georgetown Steam Plant.

Saturday January 11th between 10 am - 2pm
It will be part of the monthly Georgetown Steam Plant Open House.

We get to hear two different collaborators respond to the piece:
Between 12 - 1 pm: Live viola played by Heather Bentley
The rest of the time(10-12 & 1-2pm): a taped surround sound piece created by Marcell Marias.

Drop on by and say hello (and goodbye) as I prepare to conclude a period of research at the Bucket Room residency.

Heartfelt gratitude to my Collaborators:
Heather Bentley: Violist, cellist, improviser, composer, teacher
Marcell Marias: Multidimensional unconventional modulating intentional multimedia - in this piece creating a soundscape.
Don Smith: artist/builder extraordinaire - in this piece, co-creator of the installation terra firm and the final magic weaving of the elements together.
Stella Kutz: installation photographer
Yaw Theater: loan of LED lights

A special thanks to Sam Farrazaino and Debbie Pessein and all the Steamplant volunteers and guests for our time together at the Georgetown Steam Plant. taken in Georgetown Steam Plant by @heatherbviola
