Next project: Just breath dress for my vow renewal & Anne B. Dress

POSTS STORIES REELS

I was invited by some of my great friends to join in a vintage Halloween themed German dirndl sew along! I chose a bat to be my theme. Excited to see how it turns out, and how theirs do too! 🦇🎃👗🍻

And...she's done. 🥰

I'm incredibly proud of this one. I researched and studied the photos and the show for a long time (years) and I really wanted to do it justice. She's not totally perfect, but I definitely learned so much making this and adding to my sewing knowledge.

This was totally a Frankenstein pattern, I used two patterns, Simplicity 2589 for the dress & 3782 for just the sleeves. But I completely recut and constructed the bodice (after MANY mock ups) to make it look more like Anne's in the show. I also attached the fashion fabric skirt panel to avoid having an underskirt (too heavy and too hot!) -- and she has POCKETS y'all. She took me just over a month to complete.

Big thanks to @nat_archaic for answering all my silly questions about...well everything 😅

My favorite part of the construction, and what honestly took the longest were the sleeves. Those babies had to be hand sewn with the ribbons/trim I used and angled just so.

Photos of me actually in the dress will have to take place in a few months, because I'm 8 months pregnant 😅

Now to make my husband a King Henry style doublet ensemble from the show!

So ....it's been a minute since I posted on here.

Actually.... exactly 2 years?

Well, in that time I had a baby...and I'm due for my second in a month ❤️

I've made countless corsets I'll have to share at one point or another in the past two years....but this project I've wanted to do (and had the fabric for) since 2020 😵‍💫

She's finally almost finished, I told my husband I'm about 93% done...just need to attach some straps, the arms, hem the bottom, and add two embellishments to the big silver cabochon. Definitely the hardest project I've taken on this far...

Hopefully I can fit into her by the end of the year!

I have too many moments wondering if I just enjoy collecting fabric 😜🤣

New projects in the works (after a very long hiatus) for Ren Faire this year (I hope) but if not, then just some cute cottagecore outfits I'm excited to wear sometime in the future! (Inspiration from my fav @french.meadows ....her work is literally of dreams)

I've become obsessed recently with cottagecore and purchased way too many everyday style dresses from my favorite vendor @adoredvintage 😍😍

How has everyone's summer been so far? (I'm ready for colder temperatures, pumpkins, and crunchy leaves 🍁🍂)

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with the always amazing and talented @alidrew. She captured some gorgeous shots and I'm so in love with them! 🌸🌸🌸

I know it's been two whole months (somehow) since I posted anything! Bad bad bad. Since my last post, I bought a house and moved! It's been hectic to say the least, but super rewarding. 🏡🏡

With Valentine's Day yesterday, two of my friends from different walks of life have brought up how important it is to love yourself FIRST, and I cannot stress how right they are. Loving others is wonderful and rewarding, but make sure you make time for yourself and give yourself the same amount or more, of love you send outward. ❤️💋
.
A huge shout-out to @silkandlaceboudoir for helping me see and appreciate myself. The self-love journey exploded when I shot with her in February of 2020!

This week is bananas!

Events galore have been a lot of fun to plan at my real estate office, (tis the season!) helping a friend of mine buy a house AND looking for one myself. The market is CRAZY. If you know anyone looking to sell, or you yourself are, hit me up. I can help.

With what's going on right now, most seller's are getting 50k+ more than their list price with no home inspections AND waiving appraisal. Can you imagine getting 50k more in your pocket by just literally selling your house as-is?! AND going under contract within a few days?! Cause that's what's happening to the market right now.

Anyways! My Anne Boleyn jacket is done (was done last week but I had no time to post until now 😓)

On to the dress.....if I even have the time. Phew!

I really shouldn't plan ANOTHER Anne Boleyn dress without making the two I have all the fabric for...but with Christmas coming up, I'm again obsessed with this dress....as historically inaccurate as it is 😱🤣🎄

I'm not researching fabrics at all 😶😶
