Happy Heavenly Birthday, Uncle Nick. ❤️
Some of my most cherished childhood memories are from the days when we were all together under Grandma's roof. A house full of family, laughter, chaos, and love. How I wish I could go back, even for just a day.
You were the crazy uncle, the one who wrestled with us, played Super Nintendo, loved music, so excited for the new 3 CD turn around stereo and kept those CDs spotless. I'll never forget standing in the kitchen as a little girl, learning to make you scrambled eggs. It's funny how the smallest moments become the memories we treasure most. You were so much more than my uncle. You were the father figure for all of us cousins, and although life wasn't always easy, I never doubted your love. Having you walk me down the aisle will forever be one of my most treasured memories.
You always wanted me to be born on your birthday, but I made you wait one more day. And now, every year, I get to celebrate you before celebrating me.
I miss you, Uncle Nick. I miss you, I miss us, and I miss the way life felt back then. I'd give anything for one more day.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
I look at these pictures and feel sadness for the woman I once was. A woman who endured domestic violence not once, but a few times. A woman who deserved so much more than the pain she experienced.
Today, almost 41 years old, I hardly recognize her. But I have so much compassion for her.
I'm not sharing this for sympathy, but for awareness. No one deserves to live in fear.

And thats exactly what I did.

Clean house, windows open, cooked some ham and cheese soup, ciabatta bread and salad for dinner.

These falls days are my FAVORITE.

Happy 19th Birthday to our Mattie girl. 🤍

There are so many things I could say about you, but there isnt enough time in the day!

You have been through things that could have hardened you, stopped you, or made you give up and somehow, you keep going. You keep figuring it out. You keep getting back up. Even when life feels heavy, even when things don’t go the way you hoped, there is this determination inside of you that refuses to quit and I hope you know how incredible that is.

You are strong, stubborn in the best ways, fiercely independent, loving, funny, absolutely beautiful, and so much more capable than I think you even realize sometimes. I have watched you grow through every version of yourself, and I am so damn proud of the woman you are becoming.

I know I’m your mom, so part of me will probably always see the little girl in you. But I also see this 19 year old woman standing in front of me who is learning who she is, what she wants, what she deserves, and how to make her own way in this world.
I hope 19 is a year where you start seeing yourself the way everyone else sees you strong, worthy, capable, resilient, and absolutely amazing.

No matter how old you get, no matter where life takes you, I will always be in your corner.

For me, being in leadership is not about a title or having all the answers; it’s about how you show up for people, especially when things are difficult.
Making time for someone who is struggling, protecting your team from burnout, giving credit when no one else sees it, listening even when you may disagree, and making sure people feel heard and valued those are the moments that matter to me.
Some days I get it right, some days I learn, but I always want to lead with intention and integrity. by @heatherrose10_13
