We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support this weekend. Thank you to the 700+ visitors and 26 vendors at the Heaton Pride Market, the 200+ audience for Dog Drag with their four-to-three legged contestants, all the families from the Family Fun zone with @curious_arts , the performers and hosts throughout Heaton including our first ever Heaton Pride outdoor “stage”, the attendees from 35 events, the 17 venues who let us take over their spaces for 4 days, the 31 Sponsors who helped fund this weekend, and of course all of our volunteers who worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone felt safe and welcomed throughout Heaton all weekend long. Please leave your feedback on Heaton Pride in the link in our bio! And don’t forget, if you enjoyed this weekend, please donate to @thewardrobegateshead via the link in our bio. taken in Heaton, Newcastle by @heatonpride

On our 2nd day of Heaton Pride... We wanted to take a moment to introduce our team and let you know a little more about who we are! Come say hi to us on the weekend. We'll be scattered about visiting all the different events and would love to hear from you❗️👋 You can find us, and other members of our volunteer team, by our rainbow lanyards and/or high vis Heaton Pride vests. by @heatonpride

The long awaited announcement is here! This year we will be working with and fundraising for the amazing @thewardrobegateshead at all Heaton Pride events 🌈👗 The Wardrobe is a clothes bank based in Gateshead. Set up in 2021, they provide trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people a safe place to find clothing options that help their gender expression. They started off small in a cupboard in the Newbridge Project and are looking to make their own dedicated space this year! Currently they are based at Orbis Community and are appointment based. The service is free, and offers anyone who may feel uncomfortable a personalised experience at their own pace. Check out their website for more details (🔗 link in bio) by @heatonpride

🌟STAR OF HEATON PRIDE: Sweet Boy🌟 We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special. Sweet Boy is truly one in a million when it came to this year's Heaton Pride. Sweet Boy has been involved with Heaton Pride two years in a row now, only having moved to Heaton just before our inaugural year! Sweet Boy organised two events this year, with very little help from our team because they are just that good at what they do. The Drag Market on Saturday and Open Mic Drag Show on Sunday were two brand new events that Sweet Boy designed themselves, with A LOT of admin that they took in stride and just completely sorted out. Not to mention the amount of support they have offered our team two years in a row, recommending other talented performers and always offering their expertise on event planning and organisation. They are such a talent and asset to everyone who has the privilege to know and/or work with them. Sweet Boy is not only a Heaton Pride star, but they are a fabulous designer, performer, artist, and organiser. Rumour has it, they were so impressive at Pride this year - you might be getting to see Sweet Boy performing a bit more regularly in Heaton 👀 Give @suchasweetboy a follow on their instagram, and make sure to get tickets to their next event - you will not regret it! (We didn't get any photos of Sweet Boy at the market they organised but we got two tof the back of their head so you can enjoy those as well) 📸@being.ti 📸@sarahemma_photography by @heatonpride

🌟STAR OF HEATON PRIDE: Sam Bosworth🌟 We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special. Sam is a fantastic singer and musician who we feel very fortunate to know. Coming to us highly recommended as a musician, Sam exceeded all expectations by helping our coordinators find other talented performers for Heaton Pride Saturday. But Sam did not stop there, they helped us with our sound system on the day and even coordinated on our behalf when we needed a last minute replacement to the lineup less than 24 hours to start time! Sam is a very talented artist as well as a disability rights advocate and activist along with being an absolute delight of a human to interact with. We cannot recommend working with Sam enough! Give them a follow at @_sambosworth and we promise you won't regret it. by @heatonpride

🌟STAR OF HEATON PRIDE: KINGDOM 🌟 We want to take a moment to share a special thank you to some people who went above and beyond in helping Heaton Pride this year. These are people who out of the kindness of their own hearts went above and beyond what was asked of them and created something really special. Kingdom has hosted events at Heaton Pride 2 years in a row now! They are an impressive drag performer who never ceases to amaze. Kingdom not only is an incredibly talented performer, designer, playwright, host, lyricist, dancer, and vibe-maintainer, they are a genuinely such a kind and caring person. They inspire audiences and peers alike with their shows all while actively advocating for the fair payment and treatment of queer creatives. We feel inspired having worked with Kingdom two years in a row and are forever grateful to know them and to have worked with them. Follow Kingdom. Book Kingdom. Love Kingdom. 📸 @sarahemma_photography by @heatonpride

Poetry hosted by @mollymoon28_ was such a wholesome Sunday event 🪻 we love our Heaton Pride poetry events, even if it is uniquely difficult to find a home for them. A huge shout out to Butterfly Cabinet for stepping in at the last moment to save the day and offer to host this event after their normal hours! Thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, and @butterflycaf for hosting 🫶 📸 @mollymoon28_ by @heatonpride

As the Sun set, our performers moved inside the Tipsy Toad where the audience was treated to a combination of drag acts and live music late into the night 🌜 With our absolute powerhouse of a host, @its.just.kingdom 👑 Thank you to our performers @xbethbellx and Matt @itsboobross @ellerosetheunicorn @freyabeez @alan_queerer_drag @bea_witched_ @thehempqueensmusic @annie_enclave @theo_the_motherboard @boskogreen And our special preview performance from Kingdom of their upcoming solo show with the most clever lyrics we've ever heard 😍 Apologies to the handful of performers we missed. For the first time in event history, the lineup was ahead of schedule and we missed some of you during photography changeover 💔 📸 @being.ti 📸 @saraemma_photography taken in Tipsy Toad by @heatonpride
